"Marlon, Vlad, Bryan, Elijah and Kearis worked their butts off! Our move took place in the rain, and these poor guys were drenched and tired, but they never gave up. They pushed themselves beyond their energy levels and were wonderful to deal with. They had great manners, excellent attitudes, and solid work ethics. I would hire Moving Ahead Services again. They were--hands down--the best moving company that I have ever hired. Thanks again, Gentlemen. You have a solid leader in Marlon. Do whatever he tells you, and you will be successful."

"Overall, it went great! They brought a large crew both times (7-8 movers), all were very friendly and helpful and moved very quickly and efficiently. They were well trained and experienced moving crew. Most of the movers were involved in both moves. We had a fairly large amount of stuff, most of it was boxed ahead of time. What wasn't, they boxed it up for us. When we moved out, they sent two men back to take care of the trash, some large items, and dispose of it. They even swept out our garage. During the long storage time, Jeffers sent two men to Arhaus to pick up new furniture and add it to the storage "pile." It took them a day and a half to move out our stuff (there was an issue with one of their trucks, and we needed three truck loads. They moved everything back in in about 8 hours. Recognize that the movers had to pack trucks, then unpack them for storage. For the July 1 move-in, they packed the trucks on June 30 to move them in the next day. I believe that if they simply moved them from one house to another (3 trucks), the cost would have been much, much lower. I strongly recommend them to anyone, and have who were equally satisfied with Jeffers. They know what they are doing and move very quickly, having fun along the way. The crew treats you like you are family, and your possessions like they are theirs. Jeffers quotes you a price up front (they are not on a clock looking for extra hours) and doesn't push you if it's beyond their estimated time.

"Hiring this company saved me so much time! I moved from a condo on the ground floor to one on the 3rd floor. I tried moving some of the boxes myself and quickly realized I wouldn’t be able to move the rest myself, with the help of my friends. They were done so much faster than I would have been able to. Also I had some pretty cheap furniture (like I was worried the barstool would break is someone say on it the wrong way) and they were able to get the furniture to the new place without a scratch! The guys were so friendly and I would definitely hire them for the next time I move!"

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

You should consider hiring professional movers for moves that seem too daunting, dangerous, or involve large, heavy objects. The larger your home and the longer the distance, the more likely you are to need professional help. A moving service can take the hardest tasks off your plate and reduce the risk of personal injury. However, if you are only moving a few light items, you can save money by moving on your own and renting a truck. Keep in mind that a DIY move requires significant planning and time. A hybrid option is also available, where you hire movers just to lift and transport heavy items to your vehicle.

The best ways to prepare for movers include decluttering and properly labeling boxes. Decluttering lessens the workload and ensures you are not bringing unwanted items into your new home. Labeling boxes lets movers know which rooms they belong in, reducing confusion when it's time to unpack.

A reasonable moving budget for local moves is $880 to $2,540 , while you can expect long-distance moves to cost between $2,700 to $10,000 , depending on distance, house size, and other cost factors. You can calculate your relocation budget by totaling the cost of your moving services, such as renting a moving truck, hiring professional movers, and packing services.

The average cost to hire professionals to move a gun safe ranges between $200 to $525. The cost varies significantly depending on the safe’s size, weight, and location. However, the total bill can increase if it is a large safe and a complex move. Consult a local moving company that specializes in safe moving to determine the estimated cost of this service.

To prepare for moving a piano, start by documenting its current condition with photos in case of any damage during the move. Secure the piano's lid and wrap the instrument, including its keys and pedals, with bubble wrap and moving blankets for protection. Note that if you have hired professional piano movers, they may handle this step for you.

Next, prepare the space. Measure any tight spaces or doorways to ensure the piano will fit through. Clear a wide path from the piano's location to the exterior door, removing any furniture or obstacles. It is also helpful to prop open doors to make the exit easier.

On moving day, ensure the moving truck can park as close to the exit as possible. For safety, keep children and pets away from the moving area to prevent accidents or distractions.
