"Owner Ed was very responsive and prompt when I requested a quote and scheduled the move. We had to reschedule due to the weather, and he was flexible and accommodating, working with me and the former owner to book a convenient time. The movers were on time and called when they were on their way. They were efficient, friendly, made sure the piano was positioned where I wanted it, and provided a referral for a piano tuner. I would use Meridian Piano Movers again, and would not hesitate to recommend them."

"This is the first time I have used professional movers. I selected Sherman Moving because of their high rating and great reviews on Angie's List. I was not disappointed. They took great care with my belongings and worked diligently. They were friendly and professional all at the same time. They gave me the Angie's list discount even though I was unable to print it from the website. The office person did fail to advise me that the discount was only good for the 1st 3 hours so I was a little disappointed with that. But am happy with the overall move. The office called prior to the move to confirm. The guys showed up on time and although it was a long day, they worked efficiently and did not waste time trying to prolong it as I have heard that other companies do. When we got to the storage unit, they packed it well and there is even room to put more things if I need to. They charged what they quoted me and their prices were in line with other movers that I had explored. At the end of the move, I was missing 2 of the 3 glass shelves to my curio cabinet that we had put in storage. Jason sent me somewhere to have the 2 shelves cut at their expense and it was handled promptly. Overall, I am WELL PLEASED with the move and with Sherman and have been recommending them to my friends. When the time comes that I am ready to move back into a place of my own, I will be calling Sherman Moving to do my move. Thank you Jason, Robbie and Scott!!"

"Tony and All For Him Moving were AMAZING! Super easy to communicate with, made the process very easy and stress free. I am not from the area and we hired them with short notice to move several large heavy tool boxes from a hotel to a warehouse and they handled it no problem. Very professional, nice, and made the process easy for us (even though we know it wasn't an easy job). Will 100% use them again!"

"Studley did a wonderful job packing, moving, and protecting the furniture. Solid furniture pieces were wrapped in blankets then covered head to toe with plastic to prevent dust infiltration. Even cushioned pieces were wrapped with plastic wrap. They were very careful to protect the newly-remodeled space when they moved the items back in. They even made sure all the furniture had appropriate padding on the legs to avoid scratching the new hardwood floors."

"Great work! Arrived punctually. I showed them which items were to be moved and they started wrapping and loading right away. Everything was wrapped and secured well. Unloading was great- they took care to ask where items were to be placed. They were so efficient that they came in under time and under the original quote. Thanks to Greenwood Moving for a great move at a stressful time for my aging parent."

"Nathan and Parker were our movers and they did a great job! It was very hot and humid, and ours was their second job of the day, moving out of a 3rd floor apartment with no working elevators, sketchy stairs and a couple large/awkward pieces of furniture. They powered through, worked well as a team and provided a professional moving experience."

"The mover called me an hour before the scheduled move time to confirm what items needed moved. He was on his way to get the second guy and get to my house by 10am. After a severe lack of communication, the movers finally showed up and got started around 1:45pm. This was a huge inconvenience because I had other plans to get the rest of my stuff moved that day. The owner, Carlos, got back to me eventually. He was "Out on the water with bad reception." Carlos offered a discount for the inconvenience, which was appreciated. The movers did not bring the dolly they needed to move the piano although I listed the piano in the quote and told the mover on the phone that morning there was a piano to be moved. Once everything else was moved, they were supposed to come back later in the day with the dolly to move the piano. I did not hear back from the movers until after 9:30pm. They were not able to get the equipment they needed in time and promised to come first thing in the morning the next day, Saturday, to move the piano. I did not hear back from the mover at all on Saturday. The owner was surprised to hear this and said he would get another crew to come out on Sunday. It was after 5pm on Sunday before the other crew came around to move the piano. The move was successfully completed by 7pm on Sunday. Altogether, this could have gone better."

"Very well. The movers were courteous and careful. They were able to fit everything into a small area in my house that I had to store it until we move my son into a new apartment in the summer. They promptly replied to my Angie’s List inquiry with a very reasonable estimate. Would use again."

Piano Moving questions, answered by experts

You should consider hiring professional movers for moves that seem too daunting, dangerous, or involve large, heavy objects. The larger your home and the longer the distance, the more likely you are to need professional help. A moving service can take the hardest tasks off your plate and reduce the risk of personal injury. However, if you are only moving a few light items, you can save money by moving on your own and renting a truck. Keep in mind that a DIY move requires significant planning and time. A hybrid option is also available, where you hire movers just to lift and transport heavy items to your vehicle.

When loading a moving truck, the general rule is to load the heaviest and largest items first to create a stable base at the front of the truck, which helps balance the weight. You can start with large furniture like sofas, beds, mattresses, and tables to form a solid foundation, or begin by placing your heaviest boxes against the truck's walls to create a base layer. After the base is set, continue loading other large items like appliances and square furniture. Lighter and smaller objects, including most of your boxes, should be loaded last. They can be packed into gaps, around, and on top of the heavier items to maximize space. Following this order makes unloading easier and helps prevent damage to your belongings.

In most cases, you don’t need to order food for movers. They will schedule breaks to eat throughout the day. However, you can provide drinks and snacks in an easy-to-access location for the movers to grab throughout the day.

Since mirrors are fragile, it’s important to find an experienced moving company that can properly move fragile items. You should always consider online reviews and testimonials. If you don’t know where to start, these tips to hiring the best movers can help.

Professionals can provide comprehensive planning, logistical support, packing services, and clear communication to minimize moving stress. Their experience allows for efficient handling of belongings, ensuring a seamless and organized transition to a new location.
