Colt Moving of Indianapolis, IN, is a local and long distance moving company that will handle your move with care. All of our movers are clean-cut, athletic and well-trained men who will work hard to make your move easy. We are professionals with large box trucks (up to 26 feet), dollies, hand trucks, furniture pads and all sorts of tools. Best of all, we charge a flat hourly rate. Our prices are lower than those of our larger competitors because we are locally owned and efficiently managed. We don't pay franchise fees so we can charge customers less while paying our clean-cut, respectful and responsible movers more. All Colt Moving employees make $15- $20 per hr PLUS TIPS! I was very happy with my move last Saturday! I had three of the nicest young men – shout out to Terin, Castro, and Aaron! These young men worked hard and they were courteous and efficient! I cannot say enough nice things and would highly recommend this company if you were planning a any kind of move!

Setting up our move was good. Both the packing and moving office personnel were easy to work with. The estimate was sizably off. Each took longer than predicted. The truck was new to the company (but not a new truck). Once the truck was ready to unload the back doors would not open. This made the two workers unload from the side doors. The order of unload was not what was planned. One end table was severely damaged. Nothing was offered to repair it. And much to our dismay everything was coated in dirty dust. The pads were absolutely filthy. The workers were kind and friendly. The loading was quite unorganized compared to another moving company we had used a year ago. Overall, just average.

Tyler and Collin basically did a perfect job for us. Absolutely nothing was damaged and the items that they took apart were put back together better than they had been! They were as careful as if we had been their own grandparents. They arrived on time, loaded efficiently, distributed where we wanted everything and were very pleasant and enjoyable. There is nothing fun about moving but these guys made it very much a good experience! Cost was reasonable, much better than several others. Highly recommended

Colt Moving was available for us with around one week's notice. We booked four movers: Josh M, Abe, Aaron, and Tyshaun. They had our entire house (including garage) packed up, moved, and unloaded in about 6 hours! They were very polite, friendly, and hard-working! They were also considerate of our request to clear out a particular room first to accommodate our cat. To top it all off, nothing was broken, dinged, or scratched! Overall a great experience, and worth every penny!

Nathan and Parker were our movers and they did a great job! It was very hot and humid, and ours was their second job of the day, moving out of a 3rd floor apartment with no working elevators, sketchy stairs and a couple large/awkward pieces of furniture. They powered through, worked well as a team and provided a professional moving experience.

I'm so disappointed with my move. They didn't finish the job on Saturday, ran out of room on the truck, and have made NO effort to help me get the rest of my things - probably 1/3rd of my furniture, etc is still sitting in my condo. Jaylon, one of my movers, was great. The other one quit (it was his first day with Colt) and then had to wait for a 2nd mover to replace him. Parker was also really good. But Jeremey with management offered No help and said maybe they could fit me in the next day and to email upper management with my "issue". That was Saturday, late afternoon, and I have yet to get a call from anyone. When Parker and Jaylon left my home on Saturday evening, they said someone would call me in the morning. I called twice on Sunday morning and got voicemail both times. Nothing still and it's Monday, 9:30am. I would NEVER use this company again.

It was a tricky situation. With covid they don't keep the main door open, so you have to ring the bell to back in each time you go out. Plus the apt. was on the 2nd floor so eveything had to go down on the elevator. We were finally able to leave the door open so it went faster after that. The 2 men seemed like they could have had a little more training. They were very polite and helpful. It was easy to schedule.

This is the 2nd time that we have used Colt to move the contents of our home locally. Both times the Colt team did a fantastic job and were great to work with. The most recent move was done over 2 days. They loaded the furniture on the first day and then stored it in the trucks overnight delivering it the next day. This was a great option to have and made the move less stressful by spreading it over 2 days. The weather both days was awful with bitter cold temperatures and snow but it didn’t slow the team down a bit. The guys were all very polite and eager to make sure they had completed everything to our satisfaction. I also appreciate their pricing model of charging by the time needed to complete the move rather than an estimated job price. This allows you to impact the price by disassembling furniture such as beds rather than paying them to do it if you are so inclined. I would highly recommend trusting Colt with your next move.

I’d give COLT Moving 10 stars, if allowed. They moved contents of 3 storage units into multi-level home. Entire crew, Bill, Prince & Manny were polite, professional and very personable. Showed great respect for our belongings, set up beds, placed large furniture pieces and cleared away all packing materials. We got 3 other quotes and theirs was by far the most competitive. A+++

Colt Moving was fantastic! Our closing was delayed at the last minute and I had to call to reschedule the move. Colt Moving was very understanding and went out of their way to help us as we tried to come up with a last minute plan. When the move did happen, Jemi, Jacob and Bill were very nice, efficient and helpful! They took care to protect all the items they loaded and moved us in very quickly. We had planned to move some things on our own, using our own truck, but the next day I realized we did not have the time or energy. I sent an email at 2:45am asking if by some small chance they had anyone who could help us move the last remaining items that day. I received a call back a few hours later that they would find someone to help us. True to their word Colt Moving sent us Jemi & Dillon to move the additional items. They were just as wonderful the second time around! Colt Moving was so wonderful to work with and we highly recommend them to anyone who is moving! Thank you Colt Moving!!!!

Needed things moved from garage to new house. Only half moved, half of that didn’t make it to right spot. Paid almost $900. Was going to use for the remainder of items in a few weeks. Will look elsewhere!!!

Horrible! Told the movers to move our washer/dryer pedestal a certain way They didn’t listen So the pedestals were bent COLT only gave us $120 for brand new pedestals that cost $600 NEVER WILL I USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!

"Hi Ms [Member Name Removed], We are very sorry to hear of the poor experience and that you are unhappy with the final results. Like all licensed moving companies, we follow standard insurance procedures to determine the value of damage on any move. The process starts in the beginning of the move when you select which level of coverage you are comfortable with. If any damage happens we determine if the damage is repairable or if it is not. If it is not repairable, we are able to cover cost up to the limited insurance maximum. In your case, you selected the standard insurance coverage of 60cents per pound with a max of $60 per item. Additional insurance was available at a slightly higher price but it was declined. After a detailed review and information gathered from you, we determined you bought these items used. This means that they are only worth the same as a used pair in today’s stores or online platforms. The value is not equal to the brand new store price. Used washer/dryer pedestals range from $60-$120. Brand new they are $300 each. Unfortunately you do not get compensated for brand new pedestals when yours are not brand new. We gave a fair assessment and value based purchasing used ones in similar condition. We hope you take the time to read this and understand our final decision. We simply cannot buy something new that was not new to begin with. Thank you for giving us the opportunity. We hope you’ll consider us again. Thank you."

Energetic crew loaded our household and took to storage units. Then 3 weeks later a different crew just as energetic and efficient loaded and moved our things to a new house. They worked quickly and carefully, working well together. We would highly recommend using them!
