"I would highly recommend this company. We own a rental property in Anderson, but we live out of state. Our property management company keeps sending us estimates for repairs that are extremely high. I found Remoodyl on Angi’s and could not be happier. They did the work in a very timely manner, sent me pictures of the work (since I’m not there), and communicated so well throughout the whole process. Not only that, the price point was excellent. Very grateful for their service!!"

"Gage was a godsend. I was hesitant to hire a handyman but a neighbor referred him to me. I?m so thankful. He was clear in his communication, prompt, clean. He got the job done better than expected. He won a skeptic over with his trustworthy and fair attitude. Will definitely be having him back for even bigger projects now."

Handyman Services questions, answered by experts

Most professional appliance removal companies will not expect a tip, but offering one is a good way to show appreciation for a job well done. A tip of 10% to 20% is a good idea if your professionals are working in the rain or snow, if they take extra care not to damage your walls and furniture in the removal process, or if they need to maneuver the appliance through tight spaces or up or down stairs to get it out of your home.

In most states, handypeople do not need to be licensed to perform simple home repair tasks and smaller jobs. When projects exceed specific cost amounts, however, ranging from $500 in California to $50,000 in other states, some municipalities consider them to be contractors, meaning they need to be licensed. To learn if your handyperson should be licensed to work on your job, contact your local governing body or state contractors’ licensing board before starting any work.

While handypeople do not need to be licensed in many places, you should only hire insured pros for any home improvement work. Your handyperson should have active liability coverage that protects them and you in the case of an error or accident. Furthermore, if they have employees on your property, they should also have workers’ compensation insurance. If you hire an individual or a company that is not insured and they damage your property, have an accident while on the job, or become injured on your property without insurance, you can be held financially liable.

A contractor specializes in a specific field. They often operate in teams where they have subcontractors to handle specialized problems. So if you have significant plumbing, drywall, or roofing issues, you’ll want to hire a contractor, as the job may require a team.

A handyperson is typically one person who works on whatever jobs come their way. You wouldn’t call a contractor to fix the hinges on cabinets or paint your room. Instead, a handyperson can handle all these issues, saving you from making multiple phone calls.

If a contractor is in breach of your contract, sometimes it is possible to collect damages for unreasonable delays. However, such claims can be expensive and difficult to prove. If there’s a way to complete the work and maybe negotiate for a discount for some of the inconvenience, that might be a simpler and cheaper way to resolve any disputes.
