"They are a family owned and operated business that go above and beyond and have competitive prices. The attention to detail is outstanding! I had my 15 year old light/medium oak kitchen cabinets toned to a dark color with hardware installation. They turned out beautifully. I would highly recommend Got A Painter!"

"In September, 2018, we hired a contractor to tear down a very large deck (more than 1000 sq. ft.) and replace it with a new deck with the same footprint. We had no idea what lay ahead. That company was, and remains corrupt, unreliable and incompetent; it is operated by an inveterate liar. We fired him seven months into a two-month project. Subsequently, we interviewed many contractors and chose Biango Construction. They had all of the requisite documentation, and their references gave them "glowing' recommendations. Nick Biango and his crew are the epitome of professionalism. They show up on time, clean up after the day's work is done, and most importantly, take great pride in their handiwork. They finished the project in record time, including correcting the mistakes made by the former contractor. We are thrilled with our deck, and we will call Nick for any future projects. My husband and I give Biango Constructiion an A+ recommendation. Dennis and Mary of Oak Brook"

"From the time Mark came to the house on his appt.he explained what was needed to be done to prepare the cabinets before he painted them. I picked out a couple colors I liked and he brought me samples of what I picked to show us. I did not like either one so Mark helped me pick a color he thought would look great with my counters. I love the cabinets! Mark is very helpful and easy to talk I would highly recommend Cabinetrix! My husband and I are very happy with our beautiful cabinets! ."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

There are some tips when hiring a cabinet installer that’ll help prepare you to create a new space. When installing new cabinets, keep the following in mind:

  • Hire the same cabinet installer professional to measure, design, and install the cabinets, as opposed to jumping between companies.

  • Discuss what types of cabinets the installer offers, including stock, semi-custom, and custom, to give yourself options.

  • Discuss financing options with your installer, as this project can be expensive depending on your chosen cabinets.

  • Discuss your cabinet installer’s prior experience, including asking for photos of previous projects.

It is typically cheaper to buy stock or semi-custom cabinets than to build custom ones. The price difference is significant:

  • Custom Cabinets: Cost between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot. This price is affected by materials, size, design complexity, and door styles. For instance, a simple slab door's materials might cost $60-$70, while a decorative mullioned glass door could be $100-$200.

  • Semi-Custom Cabinets: Cost between $150 and $700 per linear foot.

  • Stock Cabinets: Cost between $100 and $400 per linear foot.

While buying pre-built cabinets is more cost-effective, building custom cabinets allows for full modification to fit unique spaces, such as rooms with high ceilings or unusual layouts, which stock options cannot accommodate.

The cost of cabinet installation is influenced by several factors, including the material and type of cabinets, the level of customization, labor rates, and any additional features such as soft-close mechanisms or hardware upgrades.

Yes, you can replace the cabinet hardware after installation to change up the look of your cabinets. Replacing the hinges, handles, pulls, and knobs allows you the design flexibility to match your other appliances or finish schemes to your liking. Talk with your kitchen designer or cabinet installer about the best hardware option for your cabinets.

How much cheaper it is to replace your cabinet doors depends on your needs. If you’re looking to spruce up the look and feel of your kitchen, then you can make cosmetic adjustments to your existing doors, like installing new knobs or a fresh coat of paint. Cabinets can be some of the most costly parts of a kitchen remodel, but if there’s structural damage regarding your doors, then replacing them is your best option.
