The first thing I said when I saw the kitchen finished was, "Wow!" Our kitchen was completely transformed and came out beautifully. Dan spent hours with us, crossing every T and dotting every I. The quality of the cabinets are excellent! The skill and professionalism of Dan and his crew are remarkable. The installation was done skillfully and ahead of schedule. Clean up was thorough. They all did a great job. We are very happy and we highly recommend them.

This morning I was in my kitchen making coffee, and I was struck, as I often am, by how absolutely beautiful the kitchen is. And I thought, it’s about time I write a review. You see, last winter my husband and I decided to finally renovate our kitchen. We didn’t like the black granite countertops or the cherry cabinets; they just weren’t our style. Also, our pantry was so narrow and hard to access, and there was so much wasted space on top of the upper cabinets that we wanted to utilize. We started the project by hiring Better Than New Kitchens to custom reface our existing cabinets, add upper cabinets to go all the way up to the ceiling, widen our pantry, and make a few other modifications (like creating this amazing corner glass door for the end of the upper cabinets). We hired Better Than New in December but had to wait till March for the installation since they were booked out so far in advance. I’m so glad we did, because I couldn’t be happier with the end results! I worked with the owner, Dan, to select the perfect combination of flat panel doors in walnut and sage green to complement our mid-century modern aesthetic. He even referred me to a great countertop guy (review on them coming soon) and provided some good design advice on color choice for the counters and backsplash, selection of the handles and knobs, as well as how to best divide the two colors for our cabinets. During the entire process Dan was great at communicating with me, and he was on the jobsite for most of it. The installation started on time and his team worked quickly, getting the job done right on time. It took a total of 4 days to complete, and during the process we were able to use our kitchen when the crew wasn’t there because they didn’t have to tarp anything off with plastic, there were no harsh chemical smells, and there was practically no dust. They set up their “mobile shop” on our back patio to do all the on-site cutting, and they kept the area clean and tidy. There was an issue with one of the doors, but a replacement was immediately ordered, and Dan came out a few weeks later to swap it out. I can’t recommend Better Than New Kitchens enough. Such AMAZING work and a great customer experience! OMG, I’m now realizing I completely forgot about the closet! Better Than New also custom built a closet in the master bedroom including hanger banks, shelves, and drawers for the small bathroom we tore out and converted into a walk-in closet. It is exactly what I requested and looks beautiful. I chose the walnut flat panel doors for the drawer faces and upper cabinet. The closet cabinets were installed about two weeks after the kitchen and took two days over two weeks to complete since they had to coordinate installation with the countertop guy.

We were so lucky to work with Better Than New Kitchens. I had visited a friend and fell in love with her kitchen. I later found out that Dan and his crew had built out her beautiful new kitchen using her existing cabinetry. I was immediately interested since our cabinets were less that five years old but not our taste at all. We had a consultation with Dan where he very thoroughly laid out the process. We together went through cabinet colors and he helped us select the best colors/styles for our house (this guy knows his stuff). We then again met the discuss a few changes to our lay out and finalize the plan. Dan and Eric were back to measure and within a few months we got a project date. The crew works like a well-oiled machine. They came in and completed our large kitchen and family room built-ins in three and a half days!!! They made the kitchen totally functional at the end of each work day too which was such a bonus. This was a dream solution for our space and we can't thank them enough for their meticulous work and professionalism.

We recently moved into a home where the kitchen cabinets were okay, but we did not like the style or color of the cabinets. After reading all the reviews about Better than New, I decided to upload the photos of our kitchen along with the dimensions. I was skeptical in the beginning because all the reviews were 5 stars, Who gets 5 stars all the time? My husband is always skeptical, but he was so impressed with Dan, so we decided to move forward with the project. It took about 3 months for delivery, but Dan kept us informed along the way and he delivered as promised! Dan and his crew do excellent work. It is the best decision we ever made. We absolutely love our kitchen now, and Dan was able to convert the lower cabinets to drawers, making the kitchen more functional. Our kitchen went from blah to beautiful; we can’t thank Dan enough. Dan’s crew did an amazing job with our kitchen. He delivered exactly what he said, on time and on budget. Our project involved resurface, new pantry with sliding doors, new island, and some adjustments to existing cabinets to frame in our new fridge. We had old, outdated, contractor grade painted over cabinets and lots of wasted space with bad design. *POOF* in comes Dan an his team of true professionals with a need to do things right. We had a custom cabinet that was placed under a "desk" area we used as a bar and this created additional storage as well as a better design element. The pantry was updated with full pullouts and deep drawers were added to make the kitchen much more functional. Dan gave me a quote and a start date. OH MY! Price was fair and his team started when they said they would, finished when they said they would and cleaned everything! (My house was cleaner when they left then when they started! Highly recommend Dan and his team. We are very happy!!

I am thrilled with our new kitchen. New appliances, new quartz counter tops, and “Better Than New” cabinets totally transformed our dated kitchen. I could not have been happier with the job that Dan and his team did in transforming our old kitchen cabinets. They were absolutely professional and took great pains to satisfy all of our needs.

My home’s circa-1999 kitchen and bath cabinets were hammered: builders-grade materials, poorly taken care of by previous owners. Somehow the interior boxes escaped abuse and were in good shape, so I decided to reface. I searched hard for a company I could trust. Online, through friends—most of whom had had bad experiences with cabinet work of their own. They described delays, wrong materials—complete frustration. One said, "I just wanted it to be over.” Great confidence builders… By the time I found Better Than New Kitchens, I had become quite skeptical. Dan O., the owner, came to my house, confirmed that refacing was the way to go, and gave me a preliminary estimate—along with a referral list of 32 recent clients. 32 references—who does that!?! So I started calling. After talking to 7 straight customers who couldn’t say enough about BTN’s work, I hired them. Dan and Erick, the crew chief, came and measured, did drawings, formalized the estimate. We scheduled for 8 weeks out (they’re that busy). The work was to take 3, maybe 4 days (they finished in 2). They said the crew of 4 would be dedicated to my job only. (They were. There IS only one crew, and nobody skips out to go to another job.) They told me there would be minimal clean-up. In fact, I could leave most everything in the cabinets. WHAT??? I’ve had nightmare clean-ups before with dust and dirt everywhere, but they told the truth. I cleared about 3 inches of space at the front of each cabinet and didn’t live to regret it. The craftsmanship and materials are beautiful. The hardware is top-of-the-line. You can find less expensive companies out there, but for me, with BTN, the age old adage was true – I got what I paid for. If you’re looking to reface, I highly recommend Better Than New Kitchens.

After living in our home since 2006, I am finally happy when I walk into my kitchen. Thank you Better Than New Kitchens! Dan had wonderful enthusiasm from our first contact and his team followed through with absolute perfection. Our home was built in 1978 and our kitchen cabinets were lacking in character and beauty. We’ve done a bunch of DIY on the house but knew the cabinets were beyond our abilities. Our home gently embraces the AZ Southwest decor, and Dan took plenty of time going over samples to help us reach a look that not only appealed to us but would be appreciated down the road. This was a substantial investment for us and we’re so happy that we went with refacing, as our cabinets were solid, so we were able to salvage those along with our previously updated countertops and backsplash. Be prepared for personal attention from the get go and precision from that point on. The remodel industry is really rolling at this time so our installation date was about 90 days from when we initially met. We were actually happy about this as it gave us time to review our cabinet contents, do some painting, and install a couple pullouts. The team arrived as scheduled. They were totally professional and did a beautiful job. No hiccups. Finished early. Great demeanor throughout. Erick, George, and Jill were a real pleasure to have in our home. Dan came by after his team left just to QC and take some photos. His enthusiasm for his work never waivers! I highly recommend this small Arizona business with a great big work ethic. WOW, what a first rate experience. After 24 years in our home, we decided to reface our cabinets and add some additional cabinets. Every time we have ever done a major project on our home there always seems to be a glitch or snafu. Better than new kitchens changed our experiences, from the beginning everything went as planned. Wow - reface went way better than I expected. Cabinets look better than I could of imagined for a reface job(I actually like these cabinets better than any of the options I had for a full blown remodel). The name “Better than New Kitchens” fits the company well as my kitchen is definitely looking better than new these days. I imagine I saved $$$ by doing a reface and not tearing apart the entire kitchen and putting in new cabinets. I will definitely be hiring Dan again if I ever need another Kitchen as he is extremely reliable, straight to the point and doesn’t waste time like so many others in the industry

My refaced kitchen cabinets are gorgeous and I’m so glad I chose to reface instead of replace, it saved us not only money and time but also feels less wasteful, they look high-end and brand new. Dan and his team did a great job on our kitchen. One minor hiccup in that one of the drawer boxes was mis-measured and delayed completion of the work; this was rectified within a week or so. All in all, the crew was great and also understanding of my family being in the house while they worked during the current pandemic.

We chose to reface over 100 cabinets and the results are amazing. The job was started and completed on time. The price was comparable to others in the market and was fair. Dan was always present or available to address the minimal concerns that came up during the job. His crew were punctual, professional, and respectful of our home. We chose Better Than New Kitchens based off all of the positive reviews they had received on online and after working with Dan and his team,I have to say the reviews are justified. I truly appreciated the time Dan spent with us working through the design to make sure it included everything from our wish list, while still fitting within our budget. This included a number of customizations like new shelving to replace a corner cabinet stained to match our floors, a custom finished hood, and working with the cabinet manufacturer to create a custom bevel. All of which helped tie the kitchen together with the rest of the house, and delivered a final product that exceeded expectations. Then when it came to installation, I couldn’t have been more impressed with the team of craftsman that installed our kitchen. They were very professional, got right to work, and were extremely detail oriented. They obsessed over every gap and drawer alignment to a point where I knew there wouldn’t be any issues at the end of the project. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Better than New, and will be reaching out to them for my master bathroom and laundry shortly.
