"I was completely impressed with the professionalism and expertise of this company, and the ease of doing business with them. After a preliminary estimate to abate ONLY the perimeter (so that a water barrier system could be installed) Conrad provided a second estimate to abate the entire basement. I'd contacted two other companies for estimates; however, Bluestone's pricing was exceptionally competitive. They showed up on time (7 a.m.) and began work, their crew worked diligently and cleaned up after themselves. There were no hiccups, no last-minute craziness, or surprises. The work was completed in one day and I used their recommended air quality testing company to certify that the environment was free of asbestos particles (or within minimum guideline amounts)."

"Rapid mold services and Augustin were absolutely amazing!!! We had extensive mold in our kitchen and they worked endlessly to remediate it all while keeping costs as low as possible. They worked in a timely manner, kept us up to date and educated through everything they did, and had excellent communication. I would recommend them time and time again!"

"We were told by an insurance advisor that we had "cracks in our foundation", a phrase that no one ever wants to hear. We contacted several waterproofing companies to inspect and submit bids. We received bids from the first 2 companies that ranged in price from $3K to $10K. Jerry Meadow with U.S. Waterproofing was the last company we spoke to, and the only honest individual we dealt with--as he properly diagnosed that the issue was not with the foundation, but rather an HVAC problem. Jerry was absolutely correct, and although we did not have the need to hire him, it is a rarity to find such an honest and experienced service professional, and I would highly recommend their services for that reason alone."

Dark mold growth, while common, can cause allergic reactions and various symptoms even when in the attic.
Great project which ultimately lowered the indoor humidity by 20% making it more livable for the family, storage where there was none previously, and much more healthy from and indoor air quality perspective (no stinky bacteria).

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Disposing of old paint, bleach, oil, and fertilizer should be handled by a company that specializes in this kind of waste. Many private junk removal companies do not dispose of these items. Because these materials are hazardous to the environment and dangerous to handle or dispose of improperly, you should confirm with your local municipality about places to take hazardous materials for safe disposal.

Pressure-treated wood offers some protection from the elements but doesn’t protect against mold. However, if you spot mold growing on pressure-treated wood, it doesn’t indicate rot or an interior fungal infection—the treatment process ensures that the mold stays on the exterior. Keep the wood dry, but if you spot some mold, remove it immediately and clean the area.

Most homeowner’s insurance policies can help cover the cost of biohazard cleanings for specific events. Biohazard events like unattended death, infectious disease, and medical emergency are generally covered, as are flooring and drywall repairs. It’s best to check with your insurance company to see what is specifically covered.

The CDC does not consider diatomaceous earth toxic to humans or animals, though it can cause skin, eye, and lung irritation when handled without PPE. It's important to note that non-food-grade diatomaceous earth can be toxic when handled or consumed, so homeowners should only purchase the food-grade option.

Ideal humidity conditions generally range from 30% to 50%, with 45% considered optimal humidity for most homes. If your humidity levels drop below that range, you can turn your dehumidifier off. Additionally, suppose the temperature where the dehumidifier is installed falls below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. In that case, it's best to turn it off and unplug it since cooler temperatures can cause the unit's coils to freeze.
