"Called them to clean and inspect fireplace chimney. Frankie went up on the roof while his assistant cleaned from inside. Frankie took digital photo of crown to show me where it needed repair. Also noticed that the existing cap did not fit tightly and we have had raccoons on our roof. When he inspected the firebox he noticed a hole just above the damper, which he recommended repair because of fire hazard. The whole job took about 45 minutes."

"My initial call set my expectations high the lady was very nice and informative about the estimator who would be helping me. I've done the contractor thing before and its not fun, she made me feel excited about the estimator coming out to look at my home. She explained about the short delay in setting the appointment and it made sense and I agreed. I knew this would be different I just didn't know how much different. Here is a bit of bad news, several contractors looked at my 2 story building and in what seemed 15 minutes had there price pushing me to give them the job. They pointed at a few obvious areas but I wanted my entire building to be fixed as needed. Here is the good news and expectations are high Chicago Brick called and said he will be on time, he also asked that I would be ready to walk around the property with him. Chicago Brick called again just to say he was on the street and parking. I did meet him at the entrance of the building. He gave me his card and asked me to show him all of my concerns. He measured the areas I was pointing out, the other guys didn't measure. After looking at my concerns he asked if he can go on the roof to look from the top down. He asked if I would go up with him but that is a big NO WAY! He did go up and took many photos and showed me areas I didn't know needed work plus the chimney. He explained everything in detail even had his License and Insurance for me to see. My expectations were high and will say this is a company that is doing it right from beginning to end. I was very excited with all I've seen and heard so I hired them of course. Short delay to start but that was okay with my schedule I wanted to be in town when work was going on. The office called to let me know the day of installation and that worked well. The crew was very nice and the work and clean up was very good. I will hire them again for my sidewalks and steps."

We made an appointment for Valor Chimney to come out and give us an estimate. The appointment was several weeks out, but well worth it. David was professional and knowledgeable. He explained the work that needed to be done and provided an equally detailed proposal. A few weeks later, David arrived on-time and did the work without any surprises. Valor Chimney, like the other companies that came out were C.S.I.A certified, but Valor's price was better and David is the owner, so I think the quality and integrity is better because of this fact."

After explaining to them that we understood that and were looking for a fix that would last a couple of years, because we plan on adding a second floor, they agreed that spot tuckpointing would be fine.
