Sewer-Oscopy provides detailed video inspections of lateral sewer lines in homes and commercial property. We also provide a "clean out" service to remove any obstructions discovered in the line if necessary. We are reasonable and reliable and veteran owned. "Call us if you're backed up"!

"DO NOT patronize this business! They were subcontracted by our home inspector and completely missed serious issues with our basement plumbing. About three weeks after moving in, we noticed water leaking into the basement. We brought in a master plumber with over 30 years of experience, and he immediately identified major problems—pipes that needed to be dug up and replaced. He was able to access and view the pipes and said these issues absolutely should have been caught during the initial inspection. He even took the time to explain to Chris (the original inspector) what was missed and what should have been done. When we asked the company to cover a portion of the repairs due to their negligence, they claimed they did their best and revealed they have no insurance. There was zero accountability. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. Please save yourself the stress, financial burden, and frustration—choose another inspection company. Don't make the same costly mistake we did."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Most homeowner policies don’t cover damage to the actual French drains themselves. However, some insurance policies do cover flood damage. In the event that your current system fails and your French drains need to be fixed, you could be covered for any damages incurred. Check your insurance policy to see how they pay out for water damage if a drain system fails.

If you hire a dedicated asbestos inspector near you in addition to your local home inspector, it will cost between $200 and $800. If, however, your general home inspector happens to be certified as an asbestos inspector, they can charge you a smaller fee and tack on the cost to the home inspection. In general, home inspectors do not do physical testing, but will provide a visual assessment so you know what you are working with.

To determine if you’re being overcharged, request an itemized price breakdown of the project. Check for hidden fees or project expenses, from parts to labor, that are clearly overpriced. However, the easiest way to know if a contractor is overcharging you is by getting an estimate for the same project from another professional. Negotiating with a contractor if you have another bid for a lower price is possible.

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.

The age of the well, installation methods, and maintenance logs can affect your home insurance premiums and any potential future claim. Mortgage companies can request proof of water quality before they approve the loan. Review all well information, including the Shared Well Agreement, before you make an offer to purchase.
