"Danny and his staff at Modern Quality Flooring have delivered quality craftsmanship multiple times while working on floors in our home. They are always quick to deliver estimates, give reliable timelines, arrive early to complete their job, and do beautiful work. They have installed wood flooring throughout entire floors in our house, patched, sanded and stained existing hardwood, and are planning to install laminate flooring in our basement next. We trust them to guide us in all future flooring endeavors."

"I am writing this review nearly a year after they did the work. Michael was very pleasant to work with. When we moved into our condo I was pregnant with our first baby. We have an open floor plan with a large carpet area and Michael worked with us on picking a carpet and padding that would be comfortable, resist stains, and be easy on the eyes. He said we would be spending a lot of time on the floor with our baby, boy was he right! now that she is crawling everywhere and we sit down so much on the floor to play with her we are SO glad that we got a high-quality carpet and padding. It has held up beautifully and really is stain resistant. The floor refinishing guys did excellent work as well. They were fast and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Michael to anyone."

"I recommend Superior Hardwood Floors. George did a very good job explaining our options. The crew was very professional and clearly know well their work. We are very happy with the new floors. They look great and most importantly for us is that we got rid of the squeaky noises."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes. So-called “floating” cork floors can be installed over concrete subfloor, though a polyethylene vapor barrier is required. This type of installation is achieved using the glue-down tiles, which are trickier for a DIY approach, so consider calling a professional to help you if you’re planning to install your cork floor over concrete.

Yes, marble floors do increase home values. In fact, if you install marble flooring in your home, you can expect to double your investment. Homebuyers love marble, like other types of stone flooring, because it’s timeless, beautiful, wears well, and is considered a luxury product. Marble is expensive to install, but if your house and location attract buyers looking for luxurious, upscale vibes, adding marble flooring can only raise your property value and give you a great return on your investment.

Yes. Many manufacturers make stair treads that you can install over carpeted stairs without needing to do any cutting or drilling. Stair treads can also be installed on wood, marble, and other stair surface materials. Just be sure to double-check the information for the specific product you’re buying to ensure its adhesive or installation process will work with the type of stairs you have.

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

While many hardwood floors can last decades with proper maintenance, choosing a harder wood type, like hickory, can help extend the life span of your hardwood floors and reduce the amount of maintenance needed to keep them looking new and shiny. Softer hardwoods, like walnut, may not last quite as long as other types.
