Liquid rubber is great for waterproofing, but it can damage your deck if it’s not applied correctly. For the best results, ensure the wood is completely dry before application, and apply the liquid rubber in thin, even coats. Many decking oils can help slow down algae growth, but they don't completely stop it. These oils work by sealing the wood, which reduces moisture and, therefore, algae growth.
