"Eric did a great job while giving me my quote. He was very knowledgeable and found some issues with my siding that I hadnt noticed yet. He showed me the product that DaBella was offering and the differences in other siding materials. He worked very hard to make the siding replacement quote affordable and fit all of our needs. I cannot wait to get the new siding."

"This is a difficult review to write. To be totally honest, read all the reviews. There are many reviews stating the poor communication. I completely agree with that statement. It was a long process. We asked for the bid and they came right out. It went downhill from there. It seems the salesman and the production manager disagreed on the work needing done and the overall cost. So several more times, people came out to look at what needed done. After all of that was settled, which took a lot of emails and phone calls to get resolved, they set a date. The installer came out to see what needed done. He didn’t know what was needed to complete the job and didn’t have any material on hand. Once he looked at it and checked on parts, he returned the following week. By this time, it’s the end of June. However, the work accomplished was outstanding! It was a near perfect match of my existing siding and looked perfect. They really do great work! It’s just that you need to be ready for it to take a long time and little communication with everyone involved. I talked to the owner and we discussed the situation and I was quickly offered an acceptable resolution to the aggravating project. So, in closing, it was a long and frustrating project, but very happy with the workmanship."

"Everything was fast and professional, wood siding looks exactly like I wanted to, professionals was asking properly about how I want it to look, and also giving me advice how can I make it cheaper and more beautiful, feels like they was doing it for themselves, not for a client, I will go to them again, if I need one more siding"

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Project - Install James Hardie fiber-cement lap siding (with factory baked-on paint) - 50 year-old house located in Weiser Idaho. Evaulation: Vendor selection- Contacted local contractors and contacts provided by Angie's list. Only two contractors were James Hardie "certified" installers. Direct Siding prepared a detailed bid and emailed to us without a "mandatory" meeting with a salesman. Bid was prepared by the owner (Aaron). The General Manager (Scott) provided references and locations of prior work to contact / visit. All references were happy with the outcome, workmanship and materials. Cost - Direct Siding's bid was approx 50% lower than the "other" certified James Hardie installer's initial bid. NOTE - The "other" installer started with a sky-high bid and their estimator (salesman) used every high pressure sales technique to get a signed contract. The "other" price dropped three times during the course of the "mandatory" in-person meeting and final price was approximately 35% below initial bid. RECOMMENDATION - Do not say yes or sign contract until after reviewing all the quotes and discussing WITHOUT a salesman present. Schedule - Bid accepted early March 2022 - Start date scheduled for early to mid-April 2022. A schedule change allowed us to start work March 17th. The job was completed early the next week (approx 3.5 work days) Work Crew - Owner (Aaron) was onsite at least three times a day. Always there at start and end of the day. Also walking the site a few times throughout the day. Maria was the crew chief and kept her team focused and working hard. Lots of laughter and communication. The workers on this crew worked hard. General Manager (Scott) kept in touch via telephone and advised me of work status, projected completion date, and was always asking if we were satisfied. Both Aaron and Scott focus on customer satisfaction (meeting expectation, high levels of communication, honesty, and building trust) Quality of Finished product - Incredible. Our 50 year-old house looks totally updated from the outside (i.e brand new :) ) We had several neighbors complement the "remodel" and want to know the cost. I tell them contact Aaron as he lives in Weiser. I studied the James Hardie installation guide and walked the site several times a day to verify factory installation specs being followed. Summary - We are very happy with the work of Aaron, Scott, Maria, and the other Direct Siding crew and provide 5-star recommendation to other homeowners."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost of siding repair or replacement, but coverage depends on the cause of the damage. Most policies will cover damage from a covered event, such as a storm, wind, hail, fire, natural disaster, or other impact damage. Your policy might pay for the full or partial cost of the repair or replacement. However, damage resulting from age, general wear and tear, or neglect is typically not covered, and you should expect to pay for those repairs out of pocket. It is best to review your specific homeowners insurance policy for full details on what is covered, how to file a claim, and what documentation is required.

The average cost to install stucco siding on a home is around $5,700, with most homeowners paying between $2,200 and $9,100. However, the total cost can range from $750 to as high as $22,750 depending on several factors. On average, you can expect to pay between $7 and $9 per square foot. Key cost factors include the size and complexity of your home, the desired color and texture, labor and material costs in your area, and whether you have a multi-story home. Specific applications have different costs, such as adding stucco over brick ($7 per square foot) or over wood siding ($8.50 per square foot). To save money, you can consider removing the old siding yourself or scheduling the installation during the off-season.

Vinyl siding is the cheapest option in terms of upfront costs. The average cost to install vinyl siding is around $12,173, with certain types like vinyl shake, clapboard, or dutch lap costing as little as $2 to $3 per square foot. While vinyl is very low-cost, it may not last as long as natural materials or metal, with a typical lifespan of 20 to 40 years. In contrast, metal siding is more expensive initially but can save you money in the long run due to its longer lifespan, which is often double that of vinyl. It's recommended to consult a siding professional to determine if the lowest-cost option is the best material for your specific home.

As stunning and natural as stone siding is, it's not for everyone. Some popular siding alternatives to stone siding include:

  • Aluminum siding

  • Brick veneer siding

  • Engineered wood siding

  • Fiber cement siding

  • Wood siding

  • Vinyl siding

If you want the look of natural stone siding without the high material and installation costs, vinyl siding may be one of the best alternatives. It’s lightweight, low-cost, and low maintenance but does have a lower life span than natural stone.

To maintain vinyl siding, homeowners should regularly clean it with mild soap and water, inspect for damage, and promptly repair any issues. Avoid using high-pressure washing and keep sharp objects away to prevent scratches. Check for mold or mildew and clean with a mixture of water and mild detergent. Take preventive measures to avoid fading, such as minimizing exposure to direct sunlight and using color-safe cleaning products. With proper maintenance, vinyl siding can retain its appearance for years.
