  I just had my first experience with this company after having found them on Angieslist about a half hour ago. I'm a manager for a local business that had a single employee left working a late shift, and when the employee tried to lock up for the day, the front door wouldn't lock. Needless to say, we couldn't leave the business unlocked all night, so I found Strauss on Angieslist. I chose them because of their 24-hour emergency service. I called and the phone was immediately answered by Eric. Eric was out on-site within 20 minutes and had the door fixed in 10 more. 30 minutes from first contact to repaired lock. You can't beat that! The fee was very reasonable given the fast and accurate service. I'd definitely use Strauss again. I gave them A's across the board, but if I absolutely HAD to pick something bad about the experience, it seemed that Eric wasn't too thrilled to receive a call at 8:30PM.   Called to make appointment and they agreed to the day and time needed. They called ahead of time before arrival to verify. They checked all the lock, re keyed them and also lubricated them. Very professional and neat with the work.

  Went great! Apparently the lock was just dirty so he cleaned it out and used WD40. It took him all of 5 mins to do that and make a copy of our key. He also charged us less than his minimum because it was so easy and he "wanted to do the right thing". Will definitely recommend.

  I called the office at 9 AM and was placed on the service list immediately. The person who answered the call was courteous and told me someone would call on the way over to our house to do the job. The repairmen (2) called at 11:20 AM and arrived within 15 minutes. The part of the job they could complete was done in another 15 minutes, and the lead repairman said he would order the part needed to complete the rest of the work and would return early next week. In the interim he said he would not complete the billing today as it would require charging me for another service call when he returned--something I would not have expected but was very pleased to hear. I am VERY IMPRESSED with the level of service, the worked performed and the timeliness of the response, and will call Midwest Lock and Security FIRST for any future locksmith services we needshow more

  It was wonderful. They worked with me on what time to come to the house. They did 4 locks in under 1 hour. The techinician was informative and tried to help me find ways to save money.   We bought a house, so had all locks changed. Found out the front door deadbolt only unlocked from the outside (whose brainchild was that?!). Because it's an old house, they had to be creative in finding something that worked, and that also looked like it belonged there.   The job went well from start to finish. Someone arrived to do the job with an hour of initial contact, which was quick for a Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, he asked me what I wanted done and followed me to each lock. He made sure he understood exactly what I wanted before he started. Upon completion, he had me test every key in every lock to make sure they worked, as well as checking that the old keys did not work. He gave me some basic lock/deadbolt maintenance tips, which was appreciated. The whole job took about an hour and a half, which was a little longer than he told me, but that didn't bother me. A second person showed up halfway through the job - he helped out the first guy, but it was never explained why he was there. All in all, it was a job well done for a price that was reasonable.   I locked myself out of the house while my husband was out of town and called Mike to see if he could help. Mike was out of town helping someone else and wouldn't be able to make it right away. He was able to give me the number of another locksmith. He said to call them and if they couldn't get to me soon, he would try to make it sooner. Even though he wasn't the locksmith I used, I wanted to make sure he got credit for the courtesy and professionalism he showed. I really appreciated his honesty and willingness to help.   They were prompt. I wanted my locks changed right away, they came out right away and they did it. It was $83 for the key in key out because they had to drill a hole in the door. That was the most expensive. The other times were $65 to $70. I don't know the competitors prices but I give them an A because they give you good quality stuffshow more
