"One time clean initially, but hired multiple times over the course of the year. Fantastic work, very thorough and very good pricing. By far the best cleaning service I?ve ever hired. Side note, a very kind and sweet couple. Easy to get along with and that makes hiring for things like this far easier."

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are many different cleaning services available to tidy up and take care of specific cleaning tasks, you may not want to tackle yourself. That allows you to mix-and-match DIY with professional services to get the deep clean you want..

If you’re looking for someone to organize your stuff, you can hire for that, too. For an average of $526, professional organizers can tackle closets, attics, garages, and more, which could be helpful if you’re making major home changes.

While both jobs go hand-in-hand when decluttering your home, professional organizers and cleaners do different jobs. A professional organizer will look at the project and set up the space to maximize it with storage and functional efficiency. A cleaner might do some organizing in the home, but their main task is to make sure it remains clean and free of garbage. If you want to put everything in its place, hire an organizer. If you want sparkling floors and dust-free surfaces, hire a cleaner.

On average, it takes between four and eight hours to deep clean a house. The exact time depends on factors like the size of the home, the number of rooms, and how dirty it is. A home that is frequently cleaned will take less time than one that is not. If you are short on time, you can break the job into smaller tasks or hire a professional house cleaner.

Distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar both work well to clean faucet heads; simply soak the end of the fixture in a 50/50 mix with tap water for 30 minutes. Baking soda and dish soap used in conjunction with vinegar can also help the cleaning process. A commercially available calcium, lime, and rust remover is a good solution for stubborn buildup or stains.

Hydrogen peroxide is an effective stain remover for many kinds of stains on porcelain, ceramic, stone, and stainless steel sinks. Always consult your manufacturer’s instructions to ensure hydrogen peroxide won’t damage your sink. To remove stains with hydrogen peroxide, saturate the corner of a cloth or sponge with peroxide and gently dab at the stain until it lightens.
