"They work hard. Did an excellent job removing the tree. Cleaned up the yard and removed the stump in a great way. There wasnâ t anything I had to do after they left. They were really nice people. I would recommend them to anyone that needs tree service."

"Ty gave us an estimate- I put it off for awhile thinking we could get by without the fix. Then we decided we needed to do it. He came back, confirmed what needed to be done, and proceeded to do exactly what he said he would do. The project is finished and done to our satisfaction. He also sent me details for a piece I could add in the future to enhance the project. I would call on him again."

Customers say: Quick response

"Miller Landscape did an excellent job of removing two wood walls and replacing them at the back of our house. They did this during some of hottest days of the summer. The access to these walls was limited so all materials had to be hand carried. They their bid was about 1/2 the other bid I received and there were no extra charges. They were a pleasure to work with!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Hazardous waste is waste that poses a threat to human or environmental health. This generally refers to waste that is flammable, corrosive, toxic, or reactive. To confirm if the waste you need to remove is considered hazardous waste, contact your local hazardous waste facility.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

Government regulations such as the EPA and OSHA govern lead removal procedures to ensure health and environmental safety during and after abatement.

If your roof was constructed between 1930 and 1970, there’s a possibility that the shingles contain asbestos. If that’s the case, you should hire a professional for repairs and replacement, as they’ll have the necessary equipment to stay safe from such a hazardous and cancer-causing substance. If your home was constructed after this period, it’s unlikely that the shingles in place are toxic. In most cases, asbestos shingles are not recyclable, while standard asphalt shingles are recyclable.
