"I am in awe of the service this company provided. I was seriously thinking of having my carpet pulled up and replaced with hardwoods...until Grace Cleaning Service got finished with it. The carpet had 4-year old pet stains that I had another company try to remove unsuccessfully.. Grace got all the stains out, and my 8-year old carpet looks new!! Grace also cleaned an upholstered arm chair for me that I purchased at a flea market that had awful stains. It is a beautiful chair now. The guys were professional and educated me about carpet care and cleaning. I highly recommend this company!"

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You can use dish soap mixed with warm water to clean just about any type of flooring, and while vinegar is a great addition to some floor cleaners, it’s not a good idea to use it on wood flooring or engineered wood flooring. Vinegar is very acidic, and it can gradually eat away at the protective finish on wood floors. If you’re cleaning laminate, tile, concrete, or vinyl floors, feel free to use vinegar and water in a 1-to-1 ratio with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, substitute the vinegar for olive oil.

The best way to clean kitchen cabinets is to use a soft cloth soaked in warm water and mild dish soap. For areas that require a stronger solution, a mixture of baking soda and vinegar is the best choice. If your cabinets are made of sealed hardwood, you can deep clean them using a steam cleaner, but other cabinet materials are exempt from this type of cleaning.

House cleaners typically charge by the hour, with average rates ranging from $40 to $50 per hour per cleaner. The total cost depends on factors like the size of your house, the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the specific services you request.

A standard cleaning session generally costs between $120 and $240. However, the price can be significantly higher for very large homes or comprehensive services. Keep in mind that add-on services, such as cleaning windows or ovens, will cost extra.

Deep cleaning is more expensive than a standard session—often at least twice the price—because it involves more time and effort, such as moving furniture to clean underneath and reaching difficult areas. Due to the cost, some recommend hiring professionals for seasonal deep cleans while managing regular weekly or biweekly upkeep yourself.

Services include ash removal, chimney cleaning, gasket checks, and inspection of cracks or damage.

To keep small appliances in good working order, clean them regularly, follow the manufacturer’s maintenance guidelines, inspect connections for wear, and avoid overloading circuits.
