Our job involved rebuilding our entire siding chimney, replacing much siding and rotted work, reworking and painting soffits, new gutters, putting on leaf guards, misc. exterior repairs, rebuilding our front porch railings and painting the entire house. We were absolutely thrilled to see the A+ job they did, sticking to their bid, working quickly and with very skilled workers (best painting I've ever had). "We hired Dixon because the Angie's list reviews, which  were good, interestingly.  We needed our new, custom replacement windows painted the right way so we wouldn't have to deal with replacements again, so we paid top dollar to a "professional" painter, rather than the independent guys who put flyers in our box, and often do a great job.  We  decided it was time to paint the outside too.  The Dixon painters were so bad.  I had to point out to one that he had to remove the divided light grills from the new widows to paint.   He was painting around them.  Someone translated for me, and I was told that it was too hard to take them out.  Unbelievable!!!!  The window replacement guys had no trouble getting the grills in and out.  Dixon dripped paint all down three of our plantation shutters, which I didn't find until it had dried .They didn't paint the underside of any of the new sills, which were installed primed, so the white was hard to miss.  We asked them to check all woodwork, and replace any rotting pieces.  They didn't find at least 5 places that we ended up replacing and repainting within 6 months of them working on our home.  (We never called Dixon about it because my husband didn't want them back at our house.) They painted right over the rust on the iron rails on the porch with no prep at all, and dripped black paint on our brick steps and porch.  I literally had to walk around the entire work site the whole time they were here to oversee and point out things they had missed or spilled.  The painting was so bad and incomplete and unprofessional that it made me wonder if they had picked up day labor on the way to my house.  I will call the independent guy from the mailbox flyer next time.  He does a much more careful, professional job than Dixon.

"We contracted with TopStar to do siding replacement and painting of the house exterior. Hector, the project manager, was great to work with. He worked the project schedule around our needs and stayed in constant contact with us before and during the project. Both the siding and painting crews were excellent. There were professional, highly skilled, very hard workers, and maintained a clean worksite. We changed scope in the middle of the project (decided to paint the house's brickwork) and they accommodated that change easily. In fact, the whole project went much faster than we had expected. We will definitely use TopStar if we have another home improvement project."

Mag Selva's estimate of the repair cost was fair and comparable/less than a couple of the other estimates. Mag Selva answered all of our questions and provided us with photos of the work in the different phases of the job as we requested since we were unable to see some of the area due to the height and/or angle of the work area. Another impressive item was how the paint matched to the existing house color. Unless we point out the area of the repair, no one would know that work had been done. "The team was FAST and great! Good job taking down all of the old siding and installing the new siding in less than a week! I was surprised at how quickly this was done. Jason and his team were great! They rebuilt the rotted framing of my front windows without affecting (there was a risk) to my interior drywall. I can't even tell, other than the new siding that they went into the wall... Good work!"
