"I called Henry County Electric and so glad I did. Before calling I did some research on my problem as well as the cost. In considering the work to be done and the cost of other estimates…..much higher!! Chris came to do the job when scheduled, quality work, also alerted me to an electrical hazard while he was there and immediately repaired it. He is now my “go to” electrician. LOOK NO FURTHER!!"

"Update from 20 Jan 2026: I`ve been a repeat customer of Keep Smiling Plumber, Electrical, Heating and Cooling in the past for several home-related repairs. After having an unfortunate experience with Keep Smiling PEHC during my most recent service, I had some misgivings about the company and whether I would return as a customer. In regards to their customer service, everyone that I`ve engaged with (technicians, onsite supervisor, receptionist) has always been professional and courteous which goes a long way with me. The issue that I had was technical in nature and left me with some dissatisfaction regarding the quality of work. After speaking with leadership of this organization Mr. Powell and Ms. Amy ,I believe that they hold the highest standards and expectations for their employees and ensure that any work-related issues are duly addressed/resolved. I can sincerely say that they have regained my confidence and trust in contacting them in the future for my future HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing home needs. The manager I spoke with told me that there wasn`t any way the damage of the pump could come from the technician doing a drain and flush of the water heater. He told me that it would cost $1200 to replace the pump on the water heater. After speaking with the manager at Keep Smiling, I called another company which I`ve seen before in the community and spoke with a plumber and explained to him what happened. The technician at the other company told me that the pump could definitely be damaged if the pump was still plugged up and not turned off while the water heater was being drained and flush. I called the manager at Keep Smiling and shared those details with him and he replied that he understands what I`m saying but there was nothing he could do about it. I told him that I don`t have any reason to lie about any of this and felt very frustrated and cheated by the fact that I went in expecting for them to do a maintenance check for $59 for plumbing but ended up spending a $1000 for new. "I called to get a quote for a new AC system in our downstairs.  They set up an appt for the next day.  One of their sales reps came over.  He went up into the attic to look at our unit and outside as well.  He started out by asking who installed our upstairs ac system a few years ago.  He said that they did not install it correctly and that they used the wrong size coil for the outdoor Carrier unit.  He said that he would re-install the coil for an additional $250. He said that they did a terrible job and didn't know what they were doing.  He was an expert on those units, so he knew how it is supposed to be installed.  I didn't appreciate him starting out with scare tactics.  I asked some of the other company reps that came out to give us estimates, and they said that the coil was bit large for the furnace, but that it is fine as long as it's sealed properly.  The tape had come loose, but it just needed retaping.  The sales rep was unprofessional in that he was using profanity while talking to me.  That was a big turn off to me as I felt it was disrespectful.  The price that he quoted me was around $800 more than a comparable unit from a competitor.  Plus, he added in the cost of "fixing" our other AC coil.

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical projects in Covington, start by confirming permit requirements and arranging inspections early. Map out your project timeline to avoid peak storm seasons and holiday delays. Consult with your utility provider about any necessary service upgrades or meter changes. Choose a contractor familiar with local codes, verify their insurance, and plan for possible panel upgrades or code updates to keep your project efficient and compliant.

Helpful?

To enhance safety in Covington homes, install tamper-resistant outlets and arc-fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs), and use secure outlet covers to protect children and pets. Manage cords to prevent tripping or chewing hazards, and weatherproof all outdoor outlets. Add motion sensor lighting for safer nighttime navigation, and consider whole-home surge protection. Always schedule a professional inspection after upgrades to confirm every safety feature is working correctly.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Covington should prioritize a comprehensive electrical inspection, especially of the main panel and grounding. Install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces, and upgrade smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Consider surge protection for storm-prone months and weatherproof outdoor outlets. Evaluate your HVAC system’s electrical needs, and document all updates to streamline future maintenance and ensure your home meets local safety standards.

Helpful?

In Covington, create a seasonal electrical inspection routine by checking outdoor outlets and surge protection each spring, monitoring for overloaded circuits during summer, and inspecting panel upgrades or wiring before fall storms. In winter, review holiday lighting safety and test GFCI outlets. Scheduling a professional electrical inspection annually ensures hidden issues are caught early, and coordinating with your utility provider can help address potential service interruptions.

Helpful?

In Covington, address urgent electrical issues—such as sparking outlets, persistent burning odors, or frequent breaker trips—immediately, as these can indicate fire risks. If you notice flickering lights after storms or exposed wiring, prioritize repairs to prevent further damage. Less urgent projects like adding outlets or landscape lighting can be scheduled, but always resolve safety hazards first to avoid complications with insurance or future home sales.
