"Called Sunbird Properties Maintenance to remove and look at some of my trees. Came out quickly to give the estimate and went over what do do with some of my trees to help get them healthy again, and the ones that needed to be removed. Scheduled the service, guys came out and confirmed what they were going to do and were able to complete the job quickly. and left no mess at all. Great company to work with!"

"Excellent job with tree trimming. I highly recommend for this. I also had 2 roots ground down as the pavers were being lifted. For this, my only concern was that much more of the patio pavers were removed than I expected. I now have to hire an expert for the patio repair. Crew was great though. My trees look fantastic."

"WE were totally impressed with Timber Q's. In fact we wound up using them twice. The first was after a storm when we had limbs fall i our yard. We had them back to remove an extremely tall tree that was rotten from the inside and we were fearful it would Falkland do serious damage. Both times, Quinten and his crew did an excellent and thorough job! We were totally impressed. Moreover, they arrive on time and left everything cleaned up."

"163 was Awesome!! We had some trees over the house that needed to be trimmed. To me it looked like an impossible job above a two story home. These ancient oaks are so massive. 163 made it look like me pulling twigs off a small shrub. Their attention to detail was great. They pointed out and recommended stuff that I didnâ t think about. Very professional, knowledgeable, clean and friendly. If you need tree service done you will be very happy you called 163."

"I have hired USA Tree Service to trim and remove trees for me on several different occasions, the most recent being 8/3/2020. They have a good crew of workers who completed the removal of two trees and stumps and trimmed dead wood from eight other trees. Their price was competitive (though not the lowest) but I selected them based on past experience. They came exactly when promised, all their equipment was well maintained and in good working order. The job was completed to my complete satisfaction and the property was cleaned up before they left. I will hire them again and recommend them to anyone who requires tree maintenance."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Some trees, such as silver maples, birches, sycamores, and scotch pines, shed their bark naturally. If your tree is not one that does this, it might have fallen prey to pests, fungi, or diseases. It could also simply be suffering from an extreme weather change, such as a snowstorm or heat wave. If you’re still stumped, consulting with a pro can help you diagnose your tree’s specific problem.

Ideally, you’ll have a good enough relationship with your neighbors that you can kindly mention this task in regular conversation. However, every neighbor (and neighborhood) is different. Your best bet will always be to ask directly and nicely, offering to contribute to the tree trimming efforts if you’d like. However, if you are bothered by the tree and your neighbor is unwilling to cut it, you can involve the help of the homeowners’ association or local authorities, if applicable.

For Bradford pears, damage from storms is common, and if the trunk splits, it can pose a danger to people and surrounding structures. The best thing to do in that instance is to have the tree removed. If there’s only minor damage to the branches, pruning away the damaged parts is the first order of business. You may also want to consult a professional arborist to make sure the tree is healthy.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.

The best way is to start controlling tree height long before it grows too large, via careful pruning through the years. But that’s not always possible. If a tree has become too high or too large, use selective pruning to remove the most troublesome branches, one by one, without topping the tree. Gently shaping a tree like this can, over time, correct problems. You can also find growth inhibitors to spray on a tree to stop it from growing too rapidly, but use these sparingly if at all.
