"Very professional and knowledgable. Initially we needed our whole house smoke detectors re-hardwired and a bad GFI outlet replaced. This was done VERY satisfactorily. We purchased a SPA and needed a 220 direct line. We also wanted lighting and outlets installed in the new 32 x 12 sunroom we built. Our old breaker box was not expandable to meet the 220 line and extra lighting so we had them do the whole project. Also these electricians are very timely. Fortunately we did not have an EMERGENT NEED but if one needs it they are available and right there ASAP. They are very personable and have great customer relation skills. I have recommended these folks to other people and would in a heartbeat. 24/7 is my go to electrical folks."

"These guys are excellent contractors. Responsive, friendly, knowledgeable and totally professional. Used them on a rental property, and since I am 800 miles away had to pick someone I got good feeling about talking to. Will use them again and definetly recommend for anyone looking for electrical services. SC"

"I would like to personally recognize the electrician, Dustin Johnson, for outstanding workmanship and attention to detail. Watching Dustin work, I realized this was the reason we paid to have a professional do the work. After doing electrical in the kitchen, installing an overhead fan, and adding lighting out side our bathroom, he noticed that the led lights had not been evenly adjusted. He determined the problem, explained it to us and went about fixing it. Dustin made sure the lighting throughout the condo was uniform. Great Job"

"Hands the best electrician Iâ ve dealt with in a long time. I know for a fact there were items he fixed that he didnâ t charge me for and was extremely fair in his pricing. Quick response and actually kept his appointment without me having to confirm if he was still coming or not. He even resolved a few issues I didnâ t call him for which definitely made it worth every penny! Hands down I would recommend him and his team to any one! Iâ m actually planning to build a house in the future and have already asked him to do the electrical work for that home."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You don’t need to be an electrician to change a light bulb. You also don’t have to be an electrician to replace a light fixture with another compatible one. But, if you are installing a light fixture for the first time, it’s worth hiring a licensed professional for the job.

While a handyperson may charge a bit less, a qualified professional can make sure everything is up to code and working exactly as it should be. This is especially true for more complicated lighting projects.

Compared to amps, volts, and watts, ohms are a different kind of measurement, though also very common. Ohms show the resistance of materials like wiring: How much they impede the flow of electrons. The reason household wiring is usually copper or aluminum is that these materials are affordable and also have lower ohms, which means low resistance/high conductivity.

Under-cabinet lighting is generally energy-efficient, especially when using LED technology. Compared to traditional ceiling lighting or older bulb types like halogen and incandescent, LED under-cabinet lights consume significantly less energy, which helps reduce operating costs. This applies to various forms, including strip lights, puck lights, and built-in fixtures. For an option that uses no electricity, consider battery-operated puck lights. While they require periodic battery replacements, they have the added advantage of functioning during a power outage.

You should always turn off a breaker whenever electrical work is being done. This step can prevent electrical shock and injury. Also, if a breaker is repeatedly tripping, it can mean there is an electrical overload, and it should be shut off. You should contact an electrician to figure out the cause. Make sure to review how to turn off your circuit breaker safely if you do it yourself, and follow safety precautions to avoid severe injuries.

You can determine whether you have a double-pole switch by examining its wiring. Unlike single-pole switches, which have two brass-colored terminals, double-pole switches feature four. These switches are typically only found near high-powered appliances such as electric furnaces or water heaters. If you’re unsure what type of switch you have, contact a local electrician to confirm.
