Customers say: Terrific value

"These guys are truly awesome! Lee and the gang actually came out (before even being paid a penny) the day after the storm when I told him our driveway was blocked by 2 huge fallen trees! I certainly wasn't expecting that, what an awesome guy. They work fast and efficient, very honest, professional and trustworthy. He also came up with the brilliant idea of using the mulch to create a driveway, which will look beautiful when finished.. I must confess, we were not the easiest clients to work worth and Lee showed extraordinary patience and graciousness in dealing with us. I can't say enough good things about them and looking forward to future projects for sure- much gratitude and keep up the good work A++"

"163 was Awesome!! We had some trees over the house that needed to be trimmed. To me it looked like an impossible job above a two story home. These ancient oaks are so massive. 163 made it look like me pulling twigs off a small shrub. Their attention to detail was great. They pointed out and recommended stuff that I didnâ t think about. Very professional, knowledgeable, clean and friendly. If you need tree service done you will be very happy you called 163."

"Very good crew, They were courteous, respectful to our property. Even went the extra mile by moving scallop edging and decorations. Removed all debris and did a good cleanup, and replaced everything back where it was. This was a big tree not an easy job.. and followed up the next day and completed stump grinding. Definitely 5 star , you can feel confident hiring this company..."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

On grafted trees, tree suckers will grow from the root stock, not the branches grafted onto it. Therefore, the leaves and characteristics of the suckers aren’t the same as the tree because they are different varieties. Root stock has more hardiness, strength, or drought tolerance than its grafted limbs, so if the suckers are from fruit or flowers, it might be different than the main part of your tree.

The typical lifespan of a Bradford pear is relatively short, only 15 to 25 years. However, these trees have issues long before their life is over. Due to their soft wood and fast-growing branches, Bradford pear trees often split around 15 years, making them a risk for falling branches and more prone to disease.

Ideally, you’ll have a good enough relationship with your neighbors that you can kindly mention this task in regular conversation. However, every neighbor (and neighborhood) is different. Your best bet will always be to ask directly and nicely, offering to contribute to the tree trimming efforts if you’d like. However, if you are bothered by the tree and your neighbor is unwilling to cut it, you can involve the help of the homeowners’ association or local authorities, if applicable.

Dutch elm disease can’t harm humans. In fact, according to Cal Fire, bark beetles aren’t even typically dangerous to trees unless that tree is already weakened. The problem comes when Dutch elm disease kills a tree. That tree is more at risk of falling and catching fire, which can pose a serious threat.
