"Amazing work-Fair pricing-Family owned This tree service took out a large tree in our yard with precision! It was between our shed, pool, paver deck and house. So I was skeptical on how it would get done. But they did a BEAUTIFUL job. I couldn't believe how easy they made it look and left the yard looking like they were never there. You can tell their arborist has 10+ years of experience. We are so happy they are in Citrus County. We are even happier to support a hard working family doing exceptional work."

Customers say: Terrific value

"Overall, they did a very good job of cutting down all five tall turkey oaks and removing the felled trees. They were here on time and worked rapidly. No problems there. However, their tractor left huge gouges in the soil that took me some time to smooth over and repair. Something they should bear in mind as by using their tractor at the end and smoothing the area over, would be a big plus. Norm Schmidt. Hernando."

"We inquired about this company from seeing neighbors using his service. We received a quote and instantly hired him to lift our oak trees, and Hurricane cut our palm trees. Not only was the price very reasonable, but the quality, professionalism, cleanup for exceeded all expectations. Would recommend to family and friends."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

If you’re planning on keeping the tree, unless the roots are invasive, there’s no need to remove them, as doing so can cause damage to the tree. If the tree has been cut down and the stump and roots are left, grinding and removing the stump can cause root decay for some species. For other species, the stump and roots will need to be removed to prevent pests, disease, and possible tree regrowth.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. Typically, pruning should be during late winter. For younger trees, you should not remove more than a ⅓ of the tree's crown when pruning. Also, remember to remove dead and diseased branches first, then proceed with pruning the rest of the tree.

You may need permission to take a tree down. Check with your local ordinances about rules regarding tree removal and to gain any necessary permits. Check with your local ordinances or the fire department if you plan to burn the stump. Make sure you have all the steps in place before removing the tree, or contact a local tree removal service.

Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves.

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.
