"Ken came out originally to do some duct cleaning but noticed that a lot of our supply and returns weren’t sealed properly with mastic (he showed us the areas that needed work). He came back out and sealed all the ducts, installed an air purifier and cleaned and sanitized all the ductwork. He was polite, knowledgeable, professional and hard working. Definitely recommend his services."

"Fontana Brothers installed my new Bosch HVAC system, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Freddie and Shaquille arrived exactly on time, worked efficiently, and left the work area cleaner than it was before they began. Their attention to detail and professionalism were outstanding. As a Realtor for more than 30 years, I’ve dealt with many HVAC companies, and Fontana Brothers continues to be one of the very best. They consistently deliver excellent service to both me and my clients, and their pricing remains highly competitive. I trust them completely with my referrals. Special thanks to Dan Fontana, who heads the service department — always organized, responsive, and helpful — as well as the entire office staff, who are consistently friendly and a pleasure to work with. I will absolutely continue to recommend Fontana Brothers to others seeking HVAC installation, repair, or replacement."

"Randy provided a comprehensive proposal and pointed out important features of the installation, including the widening of the ducts for sufficient airflow. When the furnace had no filter due to space considerations, Randy provided and installed filters on my air returns."

"Larry came and gave a second opinion to see if my daughter actually needed a u/v light installed for about$900 + so I called Larry from Angie"s List.He said no we do not really need one ,just a regular cleaning as some accumulation is normal. But he said his price would be $385 if it was needed. in the future.Larry is the owner and has no desire to up sell customers .This was my first experience with Larry and I am pleased with him being up front for not trying to sell me something we do not actually need..His good reputation is important to him and his reviews all see Larry as an honest professional.I would recommend Larry for a second opinion if you are ever in doubt as I was with the other company.."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Some high-quality steam boilers come with 10-year warranties, but a well-installed, properly maintained model can last at least 20 to 25 years. Learning how to clean a boiler, getting an annual professional service, and keeping up with maintenance and repairs on your heating system are all important for getting the most out of your model.

The average cost to replace or install a new HVAC system is around $7,500. However, the price can range from $5,000 to $12,500, depending on factors like the size of your home, the type and brand of the unit, and your specific heating and cooling needs. If you only need to replace certain components, the cost will be lower; for example, a new AC unit can cost between $2,200 and $5,500, while a new furnace costs $3,200 to $6,000. If additional work like new ductwork is required, the total cost could be as high as $22,000. It's best to contact a local HVAC company for an accurate quote.

No, there isn’t always water in radiators. In a one-pipe system, water is constantly circulating from the boiler to the radiators and back. In a two-pipe system, water travels through two separate channels: one that goes to your radiators and one that returns back to the boiler so it can heat up again.

On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.

Coolant and antifreeze are technically not the same thing. The difference between the two is the ratio of water to other chemicals. True antifreeze is mainly made up of either ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, while coolant comprises one part antifreeze and one part water. However, the terms coolant and antifreeze are often used interchangeably, even by pros.
