Matthew Ray Homes, Inc. (formerly Tony Ray Homes, Inc. which was founded by Tony C. Ray who has been building in Brevard County since 1973). The company specializes in Renovations , Remodeling and Painting in Brevard County. Matt Ray, who has supervised these jobs since 2012 as co-owner of Tony Ray Homes, Inc., is now President, and continues with the same quality and customer satisfaction goals. We have qualified staff and specialized sub-contractors who understand that your project will be completed as requested, with quality workmanship and materials. Our Quality Assurance staff is your resource for timely response for any questions or changes to the project. We are certified by the State of Florida and stay current with all zoning laws, building permit requirements and home owner association guidelines. We invoice via progress payments and never ask for money up front - you can have complete confidence that work will be completed to your satisfaction before we present you with an invoice. Super Service Award winners 2010, 2011,2012, 2103, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019,

"We have had two bathrooms remodeled by Matthew Ray Homes and are extremely pleased with the results. We had a smaller bath done first and were so satisfied with the results that we had no hesitations to have Matt block out time in his schedule to have the more complex Master Bathroom remodeled six month later. Matt and his crew proved to be very easy to work with and very competent in the trades they performed. The quality of the work is excellent. While we had a reasonable plan as to what we wanted to have done in both bathrooms to modernize and update them, Matt provided useful suggestions that helped us fine tune the final design in a form constructable for Matt and appealing to us. Having the expectations of what the final product should look and function like prior to any demo work proved beneficial to both Matt and to us. Matt was very helpful in recommending products to be used and assisted in obtaining those we had difficulty in providing. The crews that Matt utilized, whether it be his own people or subcontractors, were wonderful to work with. They were friendly, skilled at their trade, and conscientious to do the job correctly. They all made sure of what we wanted before starting their work, asked questions to confirm what was to be done, identified any issues as they became aware of them, offered solutions as needed, considered our input, cleaned up the job site each day, and checked to make sure we were satisfied with the work up to that point. The tile work on the walls and floors was especially well done. We would highly recommend Matt and his crew for any home remodeling project. Big and small projects are both done professionally and given full attention by Matt and his crew. You will not be disappointed."

Floors Direct is one of Florida's top flooring retailers. We offer wood, laminate, carpet, tile and area rugs. We are a large stocking dealer and we also import these products and sell them directly to the end user saving them lots of money. Installation is also offered at a direct price so be sure to come and see us before making any purchase. Mention Angie's List for a 10% discount on your next purchase.

"After comparing a few vendors to redo the floors on our home, we went with Floors Direct. We were really impressed with the sincerity of the customer service (Ben is a treasure! Jason his manager was awesome too!), the selection, and the fact that, while beating out the prices of the competition, they still project-managed the entire timeline, and really cared about getting every detail right. The end result was a great experience, and a year later, we're ready to hire them again for our new house."

"Wow what a great experience with Floors Direct. This is the 5th job I have hired them for and they just keep getting and better. They gave me great advice which helped me save some $$ on my remodel. They were very understanding and answered all of my questions with professionalism. When it came time to do my work, they were on time, very clean, very communicative and were an absolute pleasure to work with. John did a great job with my tile including placing pebbles in the window by HAND! And of course Tom and Ruben came in to finish it off by laying the flooring. The installation work was amazing and my bathroom looks so good! My only regret is I am running out of Jobs to hire them for! But I would hire them again in a heartbeat!"

Armstrong’s Cleaning & Restoration Services is a family owned and operated independent firm specializing in restoration work including but not limited to, water damage, mold remediation and fire restoration in both residential and commercial settings. Our staff and entire team at Armstrong’s is certified through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Armstrong’s holds the some of the highest degrees of certifications and designations in the industry to assure that we stay current on the latest and most advanced technology and equipment that ultimately serves as a major advantage to our clients in every category of service. Our focus at Armstrong’s Cleaning & Restoration Services is to provide exceptional customer service in every aspect of our business so that our clients are serviced with a higher degree of attention, detail and care. It’s a new standard set by Armstrong’s to recognize the importance of every situation whether it be to improve indoor air quality at your home or when disaster is present such as a fire or water damage restoration project.

"Based on the many reviews I had high hopes for Armstrong repairing water intrusion, and damage to my wood floors. Things started out OK with the easy part, removing wood planks with mold, drywall and applying antimicrobial spray. Then things dragged on with unkept promises to get someone over to evaluate the wood floors and further develop the plan. Most of the latter was being done with the “project manager” showing photos to others with experience or opinions. When the conclusion was a need to break through from the inside of the house to the outside through the stucco, I asked for more clarity, like someone actually coming over, showing me the what and why, so I understood better before assuming they had found the right source of the intrusion and solution. Previously another professional had inspected the damage and he had a different opinion. This person had 6 licenses, including building contractor, roofing contractor, and mold remediation. Armstrong’s initial response to my request for more clarity was “then why not have your friend do the work?” I explained this was not a friend, but a referral, and the man being semi-retired did not have the crew to do that small a job these days (and he also had great reviews). But that was not the point. I simply wanted someone to come over and show me what needed to be done and why before creating holes in my exterior wall. We made an appointment for 11am on a weekday and I worked my schedule around that. No one showed up! By 11:30am I called the missing project manager, Jason. Oh, he had intended to notify me by email that he wasn’t coming, they weren’t going to do the work they had started because they were already backlogged, and give me names of other possible contractors. Sadly, this was consistent with telling me he would have the floor guy come over and discuss what could be done, and that too never occurred. Maybe on really big jobs these folks are more motivated? But still, show some basic respect and keep your word or cancel an appointment instead of just not show up. I also left a message for the two owners to please call me. I never heard from them either. Fortunately, I did find an alternative company and they have been reliable. These folks were thinking along similar lines as Armstrong, but had the professionalism to take the time, finish the exploratory work that Armstrong didn’t, and explain options with clarity. And they have been reliable and professional. I realize there are many positive reviews here, and I’m sure there is some explanation for this. But since the owners didn’t bother to return a simple phone call so we could discuss it, and have a project manager who just blows off appointments, getting quality service at Armstrong seems to be a random event."

Buffkin's is a family owned/operated flooring store established 1972. Most of our installers are employees on our payroll, though we occasionally use subcontractors. We have three beautiful showrooms with trained staff and designers to help in your selections. Estimates are free and we have on the job delivery for the do-it-yourselfers for a small fee.

"When we moved into our house in late 2015, we hired Bufkin Tile to take out the carpet from the master bedroom and second bedroom and install tile. At that time, the back patio was enclosed and we had a large concrete patio added outside of the enclosed patio. Bufkin Tile also installed the new tile for the back patio. In January 2022, we finally decided to take out the existing wall separating the enclosed patio from the one that was "outdoors" and enclose the entire patio to make a large Florida room. Of course, when the existing wall was removed, there would be a gap in the tile. Luckily, we still had some leftover tile. Rob from Bufkin was happy to come out to our house and check out the project. While he was there, he also noticed another tile that needed to be replaced. He gave us an estimate on the spot that was well below what we expected. We told Rob about our plans and he said no problem, just let him know when the rest of the work is done and they would come over and take care of the tile. He took a piece of the existing grout with him to match the color. Okay, the screen enclosure is completed on a Friday in April and Bufkin Tile comes over the following Wednesday to remove the existing tiles, prep the floor for the new tile, and place the new tiles. On Thursday Dave came to grout not only the newly installed tiles but the entire length of the patio where it meets the house. He is truly the best grouter in the business. It is an absolutely beautiful job. But, we're not done yet. Dave came back on Friday to do an acid wash to make the already perfect job absolutely spotless. We've counted on Bufkin Tile for several different tile installation jobs over several years. They ALWAYS exceed our expectations. Every person who works for Bufkin is an artist. We would never consider hiring anyone else."

"PRC did an excellent job of installing a new asphalt shingle roof on our home. Our home's roof is unusual with many different angles, pitches and levels. Since we moved into this home 20 years ago we have continually had problems with the roof leaking. We have had the roof completely replaced at least 4 times. PRC is the only company of the 4 that actually created a roof that does not leak. Every other company seemed baffled by the roof's construction, as none were able to stop the leaking, and just gave up (after we had paid them in full). PRC was dedicated to getting our roof water tight and they did. PRC also helped us with restuccoing of exterior walls of the home and rebuilding an exterior balcony which had suffered water damage. Every person I worked with at PRC was professional, courteous and committed to making sure the job was done right, in a timely fashion and that we were happy with the result. I would (and do) recommend PRC to anyone needing a new roof, or having exterior work of any kind done on their home."

Hardwood Flooring questions, answered by experts

No, termites don’t eat bamboo flooring like they do hardwood flooring. That’s because bamboo is a hardy grass that is naturally resistant to many pests, including termites. If you’re concerned about termites or other pests that could damage your floors, you can achieve a look similar to hardwood without the stress of pests by installing bamboo flooring.

If you have a dark carpet and are going for a lighter look, you should replace it, rather than dyeing, since you can only go darker with dye. If your stains are too heavy to mask with carpet dye or the carpet is more than 10 years old, you should also consider replacing it.

You can save money on labor costs by removing your old carpet before the professionals come in to install the new carpet. Just make sure to clear it with your contractor ahead of time. You might also be able to cut costs by buying carpet at certain times of year when it’s less expensive. These periods include late December to mid-January and late spring to early summer.

In order to avoid long-lasting waves, indents, or sticking, it’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after fresh carpet is laid to put weighty furniture on top of it. However, you can begin walking on your new carpet right after it’s installed, and doing so can actually help it adhere to the floor better.

Each flooring material has its own maintenance requirements and cleaning techniques. For example, hardwood floors may require occasional refinishing and specialized cleaning products, while vinyl and laminate are easy to clean with regular sweeping and mopping. Concrete and natural stone, on the other hand, may need periodic sealing to maintain their appearance and durability. Follow manufacturer recommendations and utilize appropriate cleaning methods to preserve the integrity of your chosen flooring material.
