"Alex was awesome and a true professional. I called him on a late Wednesday evening and he came out first thing Thursday morning at 7 AM (as he promised). My sister who is experiencing mental health issues had added trash into the Septic Tank. As reluctant as Alex was to help, he sympathized with the situation and corrected the problem like the professional tech that he is! Extremely competent, understanding and got the job done!!! I am so grateful for his services! Derrick"

"Tom and his helper were very curtious and informed me of everything they were going to do before doing it. They arrived on the date that was scheduled and on time. When the project was complete, Tom had no hidden charges and had stuck to the original quoted price. While there, Tom had informed me of a saftey hazard with my furnace and plenum which he showed me an discussed what was needed to make the repairs. Needless to say I gave him that work too."

"Frank is an amazing guy, was in desperate need of help and without hesitation he came right over and fixed my septic not working properly even though what ended up being wrong with it wasn’t digging up or installing a new septic, he has all the knowledge and is very respectable in his trade, willing to help people out and has a good heart wouldn’t ever call anyone else but him."

"they filled in the old septic tank and took out two citrus trees . We finnally decided we didn't need a saw to cut them just strength to carry them to the front . It is still rocky where they filled it in and we haven't planted grass. we may need some good black dirt . too bad that wasn't in with the project . the sand is rocky so not really sure. The once a year treatment, we will oi call , I am glad it only took a day. there was something stuck in the pipes because would have put this project off for a while but found out after.he said c and c would be there but we called . because toilet wouldn't flush at all. after they put septic"

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Since vinegar is a weak acid with a pH of two to three, it’s generally safe for septic systems. It won’t eat away at the good bacteria in your septic tank and can help break down the sludge, which is its bottom layer. However, like with everything in life, moderation is key.

Yes, shower water goes into the septic tank. Shower water is a type of greywater, and in fact, all water used in a home with a septic system—including water from sinks, toilets, the dishwasher, and the washing machine—drains into the tank. When shower water enters the tank, debris like soap and hair travels with it. The solid debris sinks to the bottom to become sludge, while soap residue joins the scum layer at the top. The remaining water is treated in the tank before moving to the drain field for further treatment and dispersal. It is important to avoid putting oil or harsh chemicals down any drain, as they can cause clogs or disrupt the beneficial bacteria required for proper wastewater management in the septic system.

With regular servicing and general upkeep, both a well pump and pressure tank can last for years. The average lifespan of a well pump is around eight to 15 years. A well pressure tank can last from seven to 10 years. How long a well pump and pressure tank lasts also depends on a variety of factors such as type, size, material, and brand.

Adding a thin layer of dirt over a septic drain field is fine, especially if soil erosion has occurred. However, adding too much dirt can compact the soil, reducing the drain field’s ability to absorb and filter wastewater properly. Avoid using heavy clay soil, as it can prevent proper drainage. Instead, use a light layer of topsoil and plant grass to help with soil stability.

While abandoning a tank without treating it and following strict rules is illegal, there are several other ways to dispose of an old septic tank. One standard method is to pump out and crush the tank where it rests and bury it in the soil. Another is to remove it and transport it to a landfill. Finally, if abandonment is the best option, your contractor must pump out the tank and fill it with inert material, such as sand or concrete, depending on local regulations.
