"There are not enough wonderful things I could say about working with Krzysztof. He is truly an artist at his craft and I have never been so blown away by someone's work ethic, diligence, precision and professionalism! And he is just a kind and genuine person, all around. His work is unlike anything I've ever seen - he completed custom tile work for our kitchen backsplash, entirely transforming the space. And it was no easy feat with a 1970s home where no two walls are perfectly straight AND because I had selected a tile where each piece was slightly different in texture and length, to add character. His pricing is extremely reasonable, especially given the level of detail and attention he gives to his projects. You can tell he has a lot of pride in what he does! We look forward to hiring Krzysztof again for additional projects and I would recommend him to all of my friends and family in a heartbeat. Thank you again SO much for making our kitchen such a special place! - Maude & Kasey"

"Edward Ryan worked with us every step of the way... he helped us get the designs and permits and did a large amount of the work himself. He has a great work ethic and kept everything moving forward. The subcontractors he did use were very professional. They did such a great job that you would have a hard time figuring out where the addition was put on if you didn't know where to look. I fully intend to use him again for home renovations we have planned."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

You can often find many types of peel and stick tile at big-box home improvement stores. Other places to shop for this type of material include home decor websites, other types of big-box stores, and even directly from the manufacturer. It’s a good idea to order a tile sample first to see how you like the look and feel before installing it.

Glass tiles are among the most difficult to install. This is because their transparency makes the adhesive visible, and any imperfections on the opposite side are also likely to be visible. Glass tiles also must be handled carefully during installation, as they are prone to scratching. For these reasons, glass tiles often require professional installation to get the most out of their beauty and unique look.

There are several low-maintenance shower floor tiles to consider for your bathroom. Stone tiles are easy to keep clean and only need an occasional resealing to keep them looking their best. Porcelain is another low-maintenance choice, as it doesn’t stain easily. Vinyl is also suitable for easy upkeep. On the other hand, one of the highest maintenance options for bathrooms is wood tile.

Yes, but you should only put tile directly on drywall in smaller areas that don’t experience excess moisture. For example, a small kitchen tile backsplash could work, but installing tile directly on the drywall in a bathroom or other chronically damp area is not a good idea. Either way, a cement backer board is a far more reliable solution, as drywall is susceptible to moisture and can warp or cause your tiles to crack.

There are several different products that allow underwater repair. Pool putty can help repair chips, cracks, and loose tiles without draining your pool, but it should only be used for a temporary fix. Certain two-part epoxy adhesives will cure underwater, too. That said, while it is technically possible to fix pool tiles underwater, it is usually not ideal, depending on the depth of your pool. You will still have to reach the tile, which means you might have to dive and make the repair while submerged.
