"Jeff the owner from Family Shield came to my home and assessed my lawn and immediately informed me of what he thought was going on with my lawn. Which lined up with my assessment. Everyone in the office has been very polite and has treated me with kindness and respect! I will post in a couple of months and let you know how my lawn is progressing! My first treatment begins this week! This is a family owned company and they have been remarkable!"

"I reached out to Home Advisor at 10 PM. Ethan called me in 5 minutes. He said he would be out in 1 hour to take care of my raccoon issue. I opted for the next day. He explained thoroughly the entire process. Brian came to the house the next morning and also explained the process and what to expect. Set several traps. It took a few days to catch the raccoon. Brian was out everyday changing the bait and trying different strategies on catching it. Finally after several days, the raccoon came back and was caught. Brian relocated the raccoon. Left the traps for a few more days just in case there were more. There was not. I can't say enough positive things about Palm Beach Wildlife. Ethan and Brian were extremely competent, professional and very easy to work with. Highly recommended."

"Applied fertilizer; light weed control on the perimeter. Missed the second appointment which would have applied weed control to the entire lawn. Fertilizer enhanced weed growth. Has not returned calls regarding application two. Pleased with initial service but I paid for 3 applications and have only received one."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Yes, dryer sheets can help repel mice. The strong artificial fragrances found in many dryer sheets, such as citrus, floral, or lavender, are unpleasant to mice, which are very sensitive to smells. Many people report success using them to deter mice from areas like cars, drawers, vents, and cupboards. The scent can last for many days, making the space undesirable for rodents. However, dryer sheets may not be a foolproof solution on their own. For more effective protection against rodent infestations, it is best to combine them with other preventive measures like traps, repellent sprays, and proper storage practices.

Bed bugs typically will not go away on their own. If there are no humans or animals around, they will need to leave to find a host for feeding. But otherwise, bed bugs can live for several months to a year, and the adult females can lay hundreds more eggs in their lifetime. An infestation is only likely to get worse without hiring an exterminator.

Exterminators remove mice in walls by identifying entry points and sealing them to stop further access to these spaces. They may then open drywall to place food-scented traps inside for capture and then reseal to open and retrieve traps later. Next, they place traps along walls or baseboards inside, as mice tend to follow walls using their whiskers for guidance. Afterward, they may recommend repairs or modifications to prevent future infestations.

If you’re having trouble with your traps, first examine them for flaws that would allow a squirrel to escape easily, such as loose doors or hinges. It’s also important to consider the location of your trap: Place it in areas with higher squirrel traffic, and make sure it’s on a sturdy surface so it can’t wobble or tip (squirrels aren’t likely to walk in a trap that isn’t stable). Lastly, try changing out your bait—in-shell peanuts or peanut butter often work best.

Yes, water misters can temporarily keep mosquitoes and other flying insects away, as these will wet their wings and make them unable to fly. However, as soon as the water stops misting, the insects will return, so it’s not a permanent or long-term solution. It’s also worth noting that it will only deter mosquitos in the direct path of the mist; any humans looking to avoid the insects will have to get wet.
