"My wife checked out this company out before we called them. We needed to have new insulation installed due to a recent repair to an air duct our home. I called a few places for a quote and this company offered the better price with a guarantee. They did what they said and we are happy with the results. Recommended."

"These guys did a great work at my place. Our attic went from having no insulation, no proper air circulation and having foul odor to insulated, clean and comfortable. They had good service as well with flexible scheduling, polite and professional staff and very fair price. I won’t look for another company for insulation and duct services. Would recommend to my friends."

"

We contacted Amtek about having the Duct work repaired, This Very polite young man Showed up. Very knowledgeable, respectful, and clean. even took off his shoes. Allen went into the attic and found not only the duct work was in unrepairable shape but the A.C system had indeed had mold growth as well very rusted and falling apart!!! provided more then enough pictures and video inspection, too back his story up. also found out our insulation was below standard and needed tobe brought up todate. after many phone calls to Tom and Jim, Allen was able to save almost 7k of savings and rebates to help us afford our much needed correction on our issues. I would highly recommend Allen and Amtek To all my family and friends with any future work that they need.

Sincerely;

Adela Duran

"I was having issues with mice in my attic after hearing them for 2 weeks I had enough I called CritterX an their response was amazing, they removed all my contaminated insulation replaced it with new insulation an set traps up. They don’t use no poison and that was a plus for me right away, it only took them a days work an now I’m mice free they also come an check my traps every week just to be on the safe side an on call when ever I need them, I recommend CritterX any day of the week also for the price I couldn’t give up the opportunity ! I’ll be telling friends an family who to go to for their critter problems for sure."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

A radiant barrier is a form of insulation topped with a reflective material designed to keep homes cool during hotter months. It is generally considered worth the investment if you live in a hot, sunny climate, as the cost can be recouped over time through lower energy bills. Installation costs typically range from $0.10 to $1 per square foot. After installation, homeowners in warm climates may save between $7 and $15 per month, potentially reducing their electric bill by 5% to 10%. The exact savings will vary depending on your location and the type of barrier chosen.

Yes, even though frost-free and freeze-proof faucets are designed to withstand winter weather, it is still recommended to cover them with an insulated cap, especially during periods of extreme cold. These faucets work by keeping excess water inside the home's heated space and using a downward slope to drain, but this protection can be compromised. For the faucet to work correctly, you must always disconnect any attached hoses before temperatures drop below freezing, as a hose can trap water and lead to freezing. Ultimately, covering all outdoor faucets, even freeze-proof models, is the best way to prevent frozen and burst pipes.

Expect your home insulation project to take between five and 12 hours to complete on average for batts or boards and two to five hours for spray foam or blown-in insulation. It might take longer if you need to remove your home’s existing insulation, you have a higher-than-average square footage, or accessibility is limited.

Your house may be cold even if the heat is on because of bad insulation, gaps in doors, small holes pulling hot air from the home, or excess humidity. The heater itself might be malfunctioning. For this problem, you’d need to talk to an HVAC pro. If you have a gas heating system (most do) this should be considered an urgent job as natural gas could be leaking in your home.

If you need to insulate behind finished walls, the best option will likely be to have an insulation professional install blown-in insulation. The installation requires small holes cut in your wall, after which the installer can blow loose-fill insulation into the void. After the installation, you’ll have minor drywall patching, which shouldn’t cost more than $100. Compared to ripping down the existing drywall, using a different type of insulation, and replacing and finishing the drywall, this should save you hundreds or even thousands, depending on the size of the room you’re insulating.
