"Everything went well. Elcon Electric was very efficient in calling me back to schedule the appointment for the next day. The Electrician arrived on time, was knowledgeable and completed the work within 1 hr. I would definitely hire them again."

"This Company was great. The 4.5 star has nothing to do with workmanship. However, i think the price is a tad steep for an electrical outlet. But, i guess thats the going rate. Doesnt mean i have to agree with it. Not giving a 5 star only beacause i feel the price is ridiculous."

"I dealt with Bernard. He fixed the wiring in my investment property. It was a mess but he was able to figure it out. He also installed recessed lighting. The whole job took 2 days and I get the price was fair. I was working with Mr. Electric prior to hiring these guys and they spent a day trying to access the situation, cut a hole in my ceiling and said they would come back when I was ready to install my lighting and finish is. They then cancelled 3 appointments the day of each appointment, wasting an excessive amount of my time. And they were paid close to $400 to do no actual work. I m relieved Bernard handled it. Totally recommend!"

"The two electricians, Jon and Nick(?), were very competent and took care of my problems/requirements very quickly. Their charge was reasonable for the amount of work they did. The only problem (but not really their fault) their van containing various parts that might be needed had a mechanical failure, so they arrived in their own truck, with no parts. Therefore, I had to drive to Lowes to buy a needed GFI breaker. I plan to hire them again for some future electrical work."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electrical projects in Fort Pierce often reveal hidden challenges like the need for surge protection upgrades due to frequent storms, or extra labor for replacing corroded wiring in coastal areas. Permit fees and code-required panel upgrades can arise unexpectedly, especially in older homes. Moisture-related damage may require mold remediation, and using weatherproof, corrosion-resistant materials is essential for long-term electrical safety in this climate.

Helpful?

In Fort Pierce, flickering lights during humid weather, persistent tripping of circuit breakers, or outlets that feel unusually warm can signal underlying electrical safety concerns. A burning odor near your panel or visible corrosion, especially after storms, should prompt immediate attention. Homes with outdated panels or aluminum wiring—common in older Fort Pierce neighborhoods—are especially prone to hidden issues that can escalate if not addressed promptly.

Helpful?

To maintain electrical safety in Fort Pierce, start spring by testing GFCI outlets and inspecting for corrosion before hurricane season. In summer, check outdoor connections weekly as humidity rises and AC use increases. After fall storms, look for loose wires and test backup systems. During winter, clean panels to remove salt buildup and schedule any major panel upgrades or rewiring for the milder spring months.

Helpful?

For electrical maintenance in Fort Pierce, keep a non-contact voltage tester, digital multimeter, and GFCI outlet tester for routine electrical safety checks. Stock weatherproof boxes, corrosion-resistant wire nuts, and marine-grade electrical tape to handle coastal humidity. Insulated hand tools, dielectric grease, and silicone sealant are vital for outdoor repairs, while a reliable flashlight and safety glasses are essential for storm-related outages or emergency panel upgrades.

Helpful?

For a smooth electrical project in Fort Pierce, review local permit requirements early and schedule utility locating services before starting work. Plan around hurricane season and choose contractors experienced with coastal electrical safety. Specify corrosion-resistant materials, anticipate possible weather delays, and confirm all work meets current state codes. Budget extra time for panel upgrades and material sourcing, especially during peak storm season.
