What a mistake I made in hiring Elcon. Their estimate was 25% more than my other estimate from a licensed well-reviewed electrician, but I went with Elcon because I thought hiring a large company would help ensure things went smoothly, efficiently and give me some peace of mind. Unfortunately, the result was just the opposite. There were two fairly simple jobs. The first was to install an outlet on the opposite side of drywall where there is already a switch. The electrician took out the switch where you can clearly see the other side of the wall yet he still cut right in front of the stud exposing over 4 inches of stud. Why he didn’t use a stud finder or drill a small hole first before cutting completely baffles me. He did fess up to it immediately and patched it, but never even apologized. I had to match/buy paint to match the wall and cover the patch. Next he installed a non-GFI outlet in a laundry room which is against NEC code. When I informed him that the outlet was not to code, he said their estimator didn’t put a GFI on the quote. Yet I specifically requested a GFI outlet in my email to them - both in writing AND in a photo of the job. Why neither their estimator nor their electrician followed NEC code was concerning, but he did switch the outlet eventually. The other job was to install an outdoor wired box which was clearly titled as such on the quote. When I showed the electrician where the box was to be installed, he said he didn’t have a box with him. How he did not have one of only two fixtures needed for the job is beyond me. Also, instead of going to get the box before starting the job, he did it after the wires were threaded and exposed. He was gone for 40 minutes when there is a Lowes right next door to me. If it had rained, all of my entire pool wiring (which he wired up to) would have gotten wet. I paid him in full and contacted their office via email to explain what happened. Their office manager did apologize, but her unhelpful solution to my wasted time and extra money I had spent to paint was to schedule more time with me so their estimator could “spot check” the electrician’s work. Now, not only does their lack of trust in their own electrician make me worry about the completed install, but this would have been the third time I had to take time away from work and for their convenience. This is because instead of using the detailed request and photos I sent them of the job, the estimator still wanted to see it in person. And when the estimator arrived, he asked questions that were already in my request and took the same photos I already sent. When I finally pointed out that it was all in my request and photos, he then looked and was surprised it was all already there. Thankfully, I only scheduled Elcon for two of the four jobs they estimated for me. I was going to schedule those at a later date but after this experience, I decided to hire another company for the remaining jobs and will be sure to have them check all of Elcon’s work.

I’m not looking to cause any issues for D..... He was on time, immediately honest about the bad cut, patched it well, switched the outlet to a GFI upon my request even though it appeared to be J...'s oversight and perhaps he wasn’t even responsible for having the needed fixtures on the truck. When I contacted you the following day to set up a site visit to come by inspect work that you had mentioned, get a paint chip so we could get paint to touch up the area that was patched you advised me "I don’t have time this week for J... to come to check the work. The outlets are both working fine and I’ve already purchased some paint this morning that I hope will match and can paint it myself. Things just did not go the way they should have. I wanted to still send out representative to do a site visit you said "I’m a little confused. You don’t trust the work of your electrician? Is he new?" My reply was "We do spot checks on all our technicians; this is standard procedure especially when there is a customer complaint. D.... is not a new technician and has also been working as a service technician for 6 years. This practice keeps us on top of installations and ensures positive results. As I stated yesterday, we stand behind all installation and strive for 100% satisfaction on each and every job. Unfortunately, you declined the request. We always do our best to ensure our clients are satisfied with the work performed, as stated we offered to match the paint, and take but you had declined. a wire had come loose in the wall and they reconnected it. I was charged for an hour minimum, even though it took much less time. I was aware of the minimum, so no reason to complain. They actually came earlier than the scheduled arrival time. I would use them again.

Everything went well. Elcon Electric was very efficient in calling me back to schedule the appointment for the next day. The Electrician arrived on time, was knowledgeable and completed the work within 1 hr. I would definitely hire them again.

Some personal items came up for the electrician and we had to reschedule the first appointment. On the reschedule date an accident happened causing the installer too not be able to work due to his injury so working with Alley and Stephanie we we were able to get another electrician to perform the install of the outlet. They will work with you, reasonably priced and have a professional staff. I've hired them twice and would hire again.

Dealing with Elcon Electric was truly a pleasure. First, the scheduling department had John come to our home at a time that was convenient to us. He arrived as promised and clearly ran through the estimate, permitting process and FPL's involvement. He went on to mention that it would likely be necessary to cutout a portion of the drywall that we would be responsible for replacing. Fortunately, the additional cutout was not required. Over the course of the next several weeks, the scheduling and permitting department kept us informed of the estimated installation date. Once confirmed, Roman, the electrician, arrived as scheduled, performed the installation flawlessly and left our home in perfect condition with a brand new electrical panel. Would definitely hire again and recommend to our friends and relatives.

Nicely done!! He removed and added a new fan, changed out a switch box and fixed a lighting switch. He cleaned up, and completed everything in a couple of hours!!

Elcon was hired to install a new ceiling fan. It turned out that the electrical box in the ceiling was not right for a fan. It was replaced and the new fan installed. The work was expert and the area cleaned up after the installation. We were shown how to operate the remote control. The Elcon office is very efficient. The scheduling, confirmation and offer of an earlier time when there was a cancellation made it a pleasure to deal with this company. Will definitely hire again.

It went really well. Shawn arrived right on time and solved several electric problems quickly and efficiently. He explained that our electric panel is outdated and may need replacing if we sell the house. He was able to reset one of my breakers which was tripped, and I had not been able to reset it myself. That solved a wall of outlets and an outdoor light now works!

Our experience was exceptional. My phone call was immediately answered by Elcon’s office staff and the job scheduled in two days. The electrician arrived on time. He was professional, personable, and technically competent. He was an incredible problem-solver. He encountered numerous mistakes in wiring done by a company hired by the previous owner of the house, and was able to fix them, and did so in a creative way that minimized our costs. I highly recommend Elcon.

Sean did everything we needed. He was able to troubleshoot the wiring errors and now everything works as it should. He is a competent electrician, and also personable. He called about five minutes before appointment time to say running late because of traffic. Showed up at the exact time he said he would! Also, young lady from office called day before to remind me of appointment. Very impressed! Would definitely hire them again and recommend to others. The price was also fair for the work done.

Totally blown away by the great customer service. I called on Friday to get an idea of what the costs might be and was told someone could be there first thing Monday morning. Then I received a reminder call later that same day. The technician arrived and was great at looking for options & explaining them, as there was no existing fan. Everything went great. He was even happy enough to give me ballpark estimates on some future work. I will definitely use this company's services again.

The concrete ceiling had no previous fixture. Part of the wall is concrete too the electrician tried 3 different ways to make the wires least noticeable. He was polite and dedicated.
