"Apex Plumbing is fantastic! I had a leak in my front yard and called them, and they scheduled someone to come out the very next morning. The technician arrived on time, was professional, and incredibly easy to work with. They located the leak immediately, and the pricing was definitely worth every penny considering the amount of work involved. I’ll absolutely continue using Apex Plumbing and have already recommended them to several friends. Thank you to Joe, Mike, and Bobby for your excellent service!"

"Had issue with septic system, toilet not flushing and water backing up into downstairs shower. Called TPB on Monday they scheduled appointment for the next day. The pleasant technicians, Bill and Leo, called and arrived promptly. Pumped the tank (last clean out was 1.5 years earlier); mostly water. Bill, knowledgable and professional explained that the drain field was probably failing. The handle on the tank lid broke off and there was a chunk of concrete missing on the lip of the tank which allowed for sand/dirt and surface water to enter the tank as well. Bill recommended and installed a riser lid, sealing the broken tank lip and allowing easier access to tank. Very efficient and fair price. New drain field will be needed soon."

"The new water heater had a malfunction and flooded the house. They quickly responded and also had the guys that dry out the house was there shortly after that. Without hesitation they paid for a hotel for me and is paying to redo the floors. Anytime I call the owner, that’s who I’m dealing with, he answers. This company is very honest and professional. A lot of companies would go as far as this company has. We also have used then in the past and was very happy then."

"Trevor and the company are nice people, but not all things are not explained up front. Like all the different payment options, and drywall repair and painting. I thought if they cut a hole in the dry wall, that it would be returned like it was. Tony did repair and paint the drywall, but the wrong color. When Shawn asked me about the work Tony did, I told him about the Painting, He said he would call Trevor about it, Trevor called and said that they were not suppose to paint the drywall, but if I picked out the paint, he would send Tony Back, Tony did the repaint. They also wanted to be paid before all the work was done, I never pay in full before the work is done."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can enclose your crawl space. Enclosing your crawl space can promote energy efficiency and reduce the risks of pests and mold by limiting factors like humidity. It can also reduce heat loss, which is why doing so for the winter can make your home more comfortable.

A sump pump can be added to an existing basement. To do this, you will need to use a jackhammer or sledgehammer to break up the concrete and dig a pit. You will also need to create a hole in your basement wall to run the discharge pipe through.

While it’s possible to seal a foundation yourself, it’s not recommended, as it’s a tricky and labor-intensive job. Foundation sealing is best left to the pros to save yourself time, remove the risk of doing it wrong, and keeping yourself safe. Call a foundation repair professional near you to see what the job will cost.

In most cases, it is safe to live in a home with minor foundation problems, but you should not let the issues persist. Virtually all foundations have small cracks from normal settlement, which are not a structural concern but should be sealed to prevent water intrusion. However, major damage—such as large structural cracks, sinking foundations, or bulging walls—can make a home unsafe. Other issues that can pose safety and health risks include poor indoor air quality from mold or pests, uneven floors, and rotten beams or joists. It is always best to have a foundation repair expert or structural engineer inspect any issues to determine if your home is safe to live in.

Sandbags are the most common and efficient way to create a flood barrier at home. Some local authorities pass them around to homes before the risk of a flood. Otherwise, you can use flood-proof house materials, like burlap or woven plastic bags, to make sandbags and fill them with sand or cat litter. Make sure that when you stack them, they’re tightly laid on top of each other, creating the effect of a firm wall against accumulating water.
