"Great roofing company-owner was there every step making sure everything was right. They even worked a holiday weekend to get the job done before bad weather. They used high grade materials and cleaned up the mess. I would highly recommend this company."

"RoofCorp won out of 4 bidders for our roof project, because they gave us a good price, but not the lowest, and their approach and bid was professionally prepared. We worked with Ben throughout the project. He made sure the work was done on time and with quality. That was in 2017. Three years later, in 2020, some tiles cracked. We called up Ben who sent one of his workers out to inspect the roof. Ben had the cracked tiles replaced at $0 cost to us. Not only did Ben honor their warranty, but he had the job done a week later. No fuss. I would recommend them for a roofing job in the Golden and Denver metro area."

"I rarely write reviews, but when a company goes over and beyond my expectations, I am compelled to tell others; this is the case with Bold Brothers Roofing. My daughter and I recently purchased my father's home after his passing. My father had replaced his roof within the past 8-9 years after a hailstorm. Something about the roof never looked right, and recently it was discovered that the flashing was installed incorrectly by the original roofing company allowing water to pool under the roof tiles. I was given Bold Brothers' information from a friend who had recently used them for her roof. Jake Siebold came out to inspect our roof. Jake's level of knowledge and professionalism impressed me. He was on time and extremely courteous. Jake explained that our roof foundation boards were severely compromised and would not hold up under winter snowstorms. With that information, we decided to act quickly. Jake and his team were extremely efficient and had us scheduled for our new roof within a week. His crew showed up on time and worked the entire time, even as the sun was setting. They completed our new roof and gutter installs in two days. They spent extra time making sure all the roof debris was picked up before they wrapped up the project. I honestly cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Bold Brothers roofing, and I will be recommending them to all my friends and family."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

No, there’s no specific building code that requires a roof overhang. However, installing your roof with the standard 2-inch overhang is good practice, as it helps direct runoff away from your fascia boards and roof decking and into your gutters. Some overhang is especially important in areas that see heavy rainfall and snowfall, as the risk of water getting under the roofing material and causing water damage is much higher.

Verify that your roof is licensed and insured by visiting your state's contractor's licensing association. Most states have a database to double-check your contractor's name and address against the information provided. The contractor should also display both their license and insurance on their website with links to the related agencies.

Fall is widely considered the best time of year to replace a roof. The moderate temperatures are ideal for roofing crews to work and for new shingles to seal properly. Additionally, autumn weather is often drier, reducing the risk of weather-related delays compared to the rainier spring season.

While spring is also a viable option, the higher chance of rainfall can slow down the project. The main drawback to a fall installation is that it's the peak season for roofers, which can lead to higher prices and scheduling challenges.

To potentially save money, you could consider scheduling your roof replacement during the summer or winter off-seasons. However, both seasons have significant disadvantages. Extreme summer heat can make shingles too soft to handle, while winter's cold, snow, and ice can create dangerous working conditions and prevent shingles from sealing correctly, as they typically require temperatures above 40-45°F.

In most cases, no, roofers won’t need to come inside. Some reasons roofers may need to come inside are to assess ventilation. inspect roof leaks, or check for any structural concerns.

In some cases, yes, you can put a second roof layer over architectural shingles, but it depends on your home’s structural stability and the local building codes where you live. Architectural shingles are thicker and heavier than standard asphalt shingles, so you may need structural reinforcement or a structural engineer’s inspection before proceeding. Additionally, some building departments don’t allow for two roof layers, regardless of the roof type. You should ask a professional if ripping the old roof off before installing the new one is the best option for you.
