"After a bad hail storm this summer, Ben reached out to quote my new roof. He made the stress of dealing with the insurance company a breeze! He met the adjuster out at my home (i was unable to be there) not once, but TWICE and helped me get everything covered from the storm. The day of the new rood installation he was on site and made the whole process super easy (and they did a great job installing the new roof--it looks great!). The company was very professional and did an immaculate job cleaning up after the old roof came off. I am very pleased and would definitely hire again and recommend them to all!"

"What a pleasant experience I had with Advanced Construction Roofing. I was honestly not looking forward to having my roof replaced. I have only gone through this process once before with a different company and it was not a good experience at all. With ACR it was easy on my part. Peter came and looked at the roof, came back when my insurance adjuster came to look at it and honestly handled everything from that point on. They were able to complete the roof in one day and cleaned up after themselves. The owner Tom called early on in the process to thank me for my business and let me know he was there if I needed him. Good job guys, and thanks so much!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Roof repairs average around $1,100 but can easily exceed that for larger repairs. The cost of roof replacement depends on the size of your home and the materials used but averages between $4,000 and $24,000.

If the bay window extends beyond your existing roofline, you must add a roof or a small “skirt” to divert storm water and prevent water damage. The window roof can match your existing house roof, or be finished with copper or other decorative materials. Most bay windows have a roof with complete flashing regardless of their placement to prevent leaks into the home.

To cap off a chimney flue, start by measuring its width, length, and diameter, if it’s circular. Purchase a cap that fits the flue, and decide whether you want a temporary or permanent model. Then, slide or insert the cap onto the flue and secure it with a screwdriver. Be sure to avoid over-tightening the screws to prevent chimney damage.

Hail damage is bad for a roof because it can leave the roof vulnerable to the elements. Hail may leave more than dents or scratches behind. It can actually cause the shingles to crack, which means water can leak into your home from the roof. Hail can also wear down the granules on the shingles. Without these granules, the shingles are weaker and more vulnerable to the elements, particularly wind. If the hailstorm is accompanied by high winds, it may take your shingles with it.

The most common roof pitch is 4:12, which means a rise of 4 inches for every 12 inches of horizontal run. However, roof pitch varies widely based on roof design, climate, and even the roofing materials you plan to install. Your building type also plays a role, as flat roofs are common on commercial buildings and some modern homes.
