Interior Work Only...residential painting is what started Lynch home Services almost 30 yrs ago but I also do a considerable amount of drywall work including water damage repairs, new drywall install, finish & texture. I do a lot of carpentry including baseboard installation, door & window trim, hanging new pre-hung doors, installing cabinets, wainscot on walls etc. Basement finishing from bare walls to complete framing of all walls, insulation if needed, all drywall work, doors hung, baseboards, paint, etc. all done to code. I charge by the job, not by the hour & estimates are always free. I'm extremely reliable, professional, efficient & neat. I pay more attention to detail than most contractors & I take a lot of pride in my work, my reputation, & my integrity. I have a few contractor friends that help with certain specific jobs & on occasion it may just be one of them doing the work but I'm pretty much always there working as I enjoy the actual physical labor of what I do. I will never sub anything out to someone I don't personally know & trust. You'll be in great hands with Lynch Home Services!

Installing drywall will cost between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing, which is quite a bit lower than the average of $9 to $13 per square foot for a drop-tile ceiling. You can prevent air leaks and sagging by gluing a drywall ceiling. However, not every drywall job is a good fit for Sheetrock adhesive, and many pros say ceilings are one of those cases. When you place them properly, drywall screws make ceiling Sheetrock part of your home’s structural support system. 

Adding glue won’t increase the strength of the drywall, and it can make it much harder for you to remove and replace damaged drywall. Adhesive can bridge gaps, though, and it can keep temperature-controlled air from escaping or entering through the ceilings, making rooms more energy efficient.

Drywall does not necessarily need to be glued to the ceiling, especially when it is properly screwed or nailed into place. Drywall is typically attached to the ceiling joists using screws or nails, ensuring a secure and stable drywall installation. 

However, in certain situations where additional adhesion is required, construction adhesive can be applied in combination with screws or nails. This is often done for ceilings with specific acoustic or insulation requirements. It's essential to follow local building codes and best practices to determine if adhesive use is necessary for your specific project.

Level 4 is the most commonly used drywall finish for visible interior walls. Finishing the drywall to Level 4 rovides a smooth surface ready to be painted with flat paint. 

Level 2 and 3 finishing are also common, particularly on walls that will get covered.

Whether you apply the drywall mesh before or after drywall mud depends on the type of patch it is. For self-adhesive patches, you’ll put the patch down first and then coat it with mud. Mesh patches that are not self-adhesive will require you to put mud down first and then press the mesh into it, followed by additional coats of mud.
