"Let me say that Gustavo was great! Professional and kept me informed the whole step of the way. Pricing was up front and no surprises. He ended up having to replace the toilet flange on the toilet on the second floor. AND he repaired a small section of the ceiling on the first floor due to water damage. All within one day. He and his assistants were very good."

"I met Gert when we hired him to replace our Tankless water heater. I was so impressed with is knowledge and concern to make sure the installation was neat and clean. The piping is literally a work of art. We met with Gert and Sergio to discuss the next phase. They removed all the galvanized pipe and installed 3/4" copper with a true hot water recirculating line for Tankless recirculating pump. Before they started work, they came in and placed protective covers over the hardwood floors. Sergio and his team replaced all the cast iron drains with ABS. They even opened walls where needed to get to the old galvanized drains to the sinks. They pulled up toilets and replaced the old flanges with new ones. All that's left is the sewer line from the house to the street. We will be calling Gert and Sergio when reach that point. Gert, Sergio and the whole crew have something you do not see that often anymore. That's integrity and concern for their customer. Also very conscientious of keeping our home clean."

"We had a leaking toilet. Jose Romero of Core Plumbing responded to our request on Angi within ten minutes, and arrived at our home within twenty minutes. The problem turned out to be much more serious. The drain pipe beneath the toilet was clearly cracked and needed to be replaced. This is an older house, and there was no surprise here. Moreover, the pipe was in a narrow crawl space. Mr. Romero assessed the situation, provided a reasonable quote, and we authorized the repair. He came with his colleague Freddie the next day and did a thoroughly professional job, installing the new floor drain pipe, a new floor fitting for the toilet including a new concrete collar, and a replacement toilet all in one day. He was scrupulously clean, efficient, and we were amazed that he could accomplish this in a single day. We were very impressed with the work, and found him and his colleague straightforward, informative and pleasant. We would hire him again with pleasure. Highly recommended."

"Jess was on time and kept me informed with all the work he was doing. He was professional and courteous. He gave me an estimate and stuck to it, even though he had to work a lot harder than he thought to replace the broken toilet flange. I will definitely use him again and recommend him to family and friends."

"We thought we needed just our washer drain unclogged so we called the company that had fixed that before, you guys. Guys came out. Under the house they discovered rusted sewer lines. When we had our plumbing redone years ago, the company who did those did not remove the old lines. Those old lines were up against the sewer lines and were corroding our sewer lines. So we had to replace the sewer lines. A broken line just before the city line was discovered so we had to replace that too. Anyhow, we so appreciated the kind workers who smiled and waved at us. They worked around our water schedule as we have a physically disabled adult son we care for. They let us watch all the things they had to do. I took pictures and the guys were fine with that. My brand new front yard was not ruined by trenchless sewer system that went in. And my yard looks like we never had sewer lines done. It was amazing. Yes, we would recommend you to all."

Toilets FAQs, answered by experts

Silicone-based caulk is known for its waterproofing qualities, so it’s the best option for any bathroom area. While it’s often more expensive, it will provide a better, longer-lasting seal than acrylic or latex caulk. Use it along the base of the toilet to prevent leaks and keep the area clean and protected.

In most cases, it’s better to repair a toilet than to replace it. Fixing issues like low water levels, running water, and flushing problems is less expensive than buying a new unit. Start thinking about replacement if the toilet is cracked, using excessive amounts of water, or is over 15 years old. Newer models are more water-efficient and clog less often than older models.

Yes, you should caulk a toilet to the floor for several reasons. Bathrooms are constantly wet—and if water splashes out of your shower and collects on your floor, you don’t want it seeping underneath your toilet, where it could potentially cause damage. Plus, caulk adds stability and helps prevent your toilet from wobbling.

The first step to clearing the air in a line is to locate the cause. This is usually a blockage in either the drain or the venting system. Once you clear the issue, flush the system by actually flushing the toilets repeatedly. This should allow the trapped air to escape, thus clearing the lines. Don’t be surprised if there is increased bubbling as the air makes its way through the system.

No, your toilet tank should not empty completely when you flush. Although the water level will dip a lot after you flush, it shouldn’t be totally empty. If your tank is empty, you might have issues with your fill valve, float ball, or toilet trip lever. You should check all of your toilet parts to ensure they’re working correctly and make any necessary adjustments.
