"He was wonderful! We had several issues with our toilet and system being backed up because employees/clients flushed items down the toilet over several months. Each time we had an issue, Jess came out promptly and fixed everything. He is always friendly and helpful. When a large section of our pipes needed to be replaced, he fixed it, did an excellent job AND even came out over the over a holiday weekend! We will continue to use Jess whenever we have plumbing issues!"

"They did a number of things. Braced and restrapped water heater and ran copper line for pressure relief to outside. Unclogged master toilet and reseated. Bolted down second toilet. Reconnected clothes dryer vent. Repaired air gap/garbage disposal and drain line under kitchen sink, crawled under house and remove galvanized pipe straps and replaced with nylon pipe clamps. I was a contractor and used to do this work, o an very critical. They did an outstanding job. Went the extra mile several times. I was expecting a bill for a higher amount but they stuck with their estimate. I recommend them highly and would use them again!!"

"Had leak overnight under BR sink and Chandler was 1st responder. Came out very quickly to repair/repair. Upon checking on leak evidence under house, found evidence of sewage &; water leakage/pipe corrosion &; we scheduled that repair for next day (different men). Job completed. Told owner that I want invoice detailing findings and work done, but all I received was e-receipts of totals I payed, ($220/$2500/$6000). He said he would send me either via email or hard copy by mail. I need for my house files. I am still waiting...but haven't contacted Ishmael Chandler since the 5/22-23/2023 job. Comment on personnel: Victor - great worker (fixed leakage). Mario and ? - Mario physically very dirty at 9a.m.) but very nice. Other man-fine. Both men very hard workers! Mario left quite a mess behind in my bathroom for me to clean up (toilet area from seal replacement)."

"Called because my toilets and showers were constantly backing up and clogging. Adam came out right away and within an hour, he came, addressed our issues and had us up and flowing immediately and we have not had any issues since! He also recommended some repairs that we will for sure be doing in the near future. Amazing customer service and very professional. Would highly refer this company to anyone needing any plumbing work, 5 stars. Thanks again Adam!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Some of the most common bathroom leaks include showers, sinks, and toilets. Most homeowners discover these leaks because of the chronic dripping sound faucets and showers make as water drips to the ground, but a leaky toilet will often appear as a puddle. Inspect your bathroom faucets, showers, and toilets every month to detect leaks quickly.

A broken flange could lead to serious issues. When a flange breaks, the toilet is no longer secured to the subfloor, which leads to constant rocking when in use. Over time, this breaks the wax seal between the toilet and flange and causes leaking throughout the substrate, bathroom floor, and ceilings below the bathroom.

If you don’t replace a toilet flapper, your toilet tank will continue to empty and fill repeatedly, wasting water and running up your utility bills. Checking the flapper is a good first guess when dealing with a constantly running toilet. However, if these problems continue after replacing the flapper, you may need to hire a plumber to check and fix any bigger problems.

Yes, you can have a toilet without a septic tank. However, it will have to be a composting toilet. Composting toilets work similarly to aerobic septic systems in that the waste, which sits in a separate compartment below the toilet itself, is slowly broken down by aerobic bacteria. These toilets typically have a vent to get rid of harmful gasses with a fan, which requires a battery. You will have to dispose of waste in the toilet manually every three weeks to every three months, depending on how many people are using the toilet.

A standard toilet flange should fit snugly into the outflow pipe and sit level with the subfloor. Installing a new one without first removing the old one will make it impossible to form a seal and keep the toilet bowl bolted securely in place.

However, if you’re dealing with leakage or wobbling because you’ve installed a new type of bathroom tile (making the floor taller), you may be able to avoid fully replacing the flange by opting for a toilet flange extender. Extenders typically come in kits for easy DIY installation, fit over the existing flange, and bring the drain connection higher.
