The problem turned out to be much more serious. The drain pipe beneath the toilet was clearly cracked and needed to be replaced. This is an older house, and there was no surprise here. Moreover, the pipe was in a narrow crawl space. Mr. Romero assessed the situation, provided a reasonable quote, and we authorized the repair. He came with his colleague Freddie the next day and did a thoroughly professional job, installing the new floor drain pipe, a new floor fitting for the toilet including a new concrete collar, and a replacement toilet all in one day. He was scrupulously clean, efficient, and we were amazed that he could accomplish this in a single day.
