"All I can say is wow!!! Rick is easy to work with and provided a great design and even better finished product. He listened to what we wanted and came up with a plan for the front yard and side yard. Rick gave us a no pressure estimate and time to talk to other companies to compare. Method Paving was not the cheapest or the most expensive but we felt comfortable going with them because several friends had worked with Rick and loved the entire experience. They started on time and finished early and were efficient, considerate and very professional. Rick worked closely with the crews to ensure there would be no misunderstandings in regards to what we wanted. The demolition crew finished and CLEANED UP the first two days and the pavers were completed in 6 days! What I thought was going to take 2 weeks was completed in just 8 working days. Everardo left the yard clean and even swept the gutters and street so no dirt or mess was left in front of our house or the neighboring houses. Our neighbors were very impressed by the work and professionalism of Method Paving. We have had people stop by often and complement our driveway. I highly recommend Method Paving/Rick and would definitely have another job done by them! Truly a five-star company!"

"These guys were great. Professional, knowledgeable, thorough. Fixed my leaking/broken sprinkler manifold system- really impressive and well thought out approach to fixing our issue and avoiding the problem from coming back anytime soon. Really glad I found them. Did great work- and took pride in the quality of their work. Will definitely hire them for additional projects."

"Landscape Solutions did a great job and I would have them back again if I ever need additional work. They installed concrete and drainage in our backyard and walkway. This was a pretty extensive project that was done well. Not only are Scott and Norka (management) personable and honest, their workers are very pleasant and are happy to answer questions."

"We hired Steve to install new pavers in our backyard. With COVID, we're stuck at home and our old patio was uneven and had an ugly overhang that made half of it unusable. Steve was always very responsive, provided us a very reasonable price, and I was surprised by how quickly the crew was able to complete the work. We LOVE our new patio! Additionally, when a minor issue came up a few weeks after the work was done, Steve immediately came back to the house, looked at it, and had someone out to fix it within a few days."

"Very professional project proposal, design and references. Excellent value from a contractor that's well established in the local community. Project was completed and met all project milestones. On-site crew was very responsive to design changes, and applied best practices to improve on the prior concrete surface layout and design. I'm confident the resulting concrete driveway and walkways will serve us well for many years."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

New asphalt typically needs 24 to 72 hours to dry before it can handle light foot traffic and careful driving. Although it may appear solid after a few days, the full curing process, where the asphalt reaches its peak strength, takes much longer—generally from 30 days to a year.

During this extended curing time, the surface remains relatively soft and can be damaged by heavy vehicles, sharp objects, or high temperatures. To protect your investment, it's best to avoid parking heavy machinery on the asphalt until it has fully cured.

The exact time required for drying and curing depends on several factors, including the weather, the specific asphalt mix, and its thickness. For the most accurate advice tailored to your situation, consult with your asphalt contractor.

If your driveway is cracked, you can repave it with a process called asphalt overlay. Overlay is more cost-effective than a full replacement but is better suited for minor cracks and issues. If you have major cracks or other problems like water pooling, asphalt overlay isn’t your best bet. Plus, paving over a cracked driveway only extends the lifetime by about 10 years, whereas replacing it would start the clock over completely to give you up to 30 years.

Asphalt, which is stone mixed with tar, is the most common material for outdoor basketball courts because it’s so sturdy and versatile. However, you don't have to use it: another option is polymeric rubber, which has shock pads that can prevent injury. This option is a little more expensive, ranging between $16 and $25 per square foot.

Materials used for indoor basketball courts, such as hardwoods, aren’t really an option outdoors.

By grading and compacting the base soil, ensuring proper drainage and stability.

Recycled asphalt is not better than gravel, but can be a good alternative. It is inexpensive, but not as low-cost as gravel, and doesn’t tend to last as long. Recycled asphalt isn’t as dusty as gravel and is more environmentally friendly. The black look can be something that homeowners prefer. No matter what, ensure you choose an experienced recycled asphalt contractor.
