"Luis is very cooperative n accommodates my suggestions or requests on what needs to be cut and/or cleaned up. His assistant, even though sheâ s female, was also a very hard worker in the whole project. I wud hire Luis again for my next clean-up !!! Super satisfied with his service n the finished product at a reasonable price. Love that he is a local businessman here in the San Fernando Valley. Even though he cleans homes n businesses, he cleans the garden like it was ur home !!! He just keeps on going until it is done n done well !!! My husband n I say â Heâ s a keeper!â"

"Levito did a superb job on our front and back yard. Both are sloped with a lot of Ivy and bushes. He cleaned it up, trimmed everything and it looks beautiful. Iâ m having him bring plants in two weeks to add to the yard. He did a very professional job and cleaned everything up!!"

"I rarely leave reviews, but this one’s earned. LA Landscape and Sprinkler Pros were a total class act. I needed a full sprinkler system overhaul and wasn’t sure what to expect but they showed up on time, stayed organized, and didn’t leave a speck of mess behind. The owner walked the property with me after everything was done, made sure I was 100% happy. He even gave me tips on how to keep things running smooth. Felt like working with someone who actually cares. I’ll absolutely be using them again."

Small jobs welcome

"Sandavolâ s Landscaping has excellent communication skills! They responded quickly to my request for an assessment and estimate. . Ivan requested I walk him through my large project and give him several details. His estimate was extremely reasonable and I accepted it. I was surprised that he said he and his partner could do the whole job the very next day. Not only did they show up on time, they tackled and completed all the pruning in a timely manner. They obviously have an eye for detail and best pruning practices. Of course they hauled everything away as well as blew away the many twigs and leaves. Ivan asked me to walk through the my whole yard when they were done for my approval; he even gave tips for future plant/shrub care. Not only will I use him again for my tree pruning, but I feel confident recommending him to my friends and neighbors."

"I would absolutely use this company again. Sons of Sanders went above and beyond to help facilitate a comfortable living environment for my parents again. As my parents have gotten older, items accumulated and the yard was getting harder to take care of. Sons of Sanders provided an extremely efficient service for the cost, they went above and beyond our expectations. Not only was the removal fast, but it was thorough and reliable. Thank you again for all your efforts for us."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

Chlorine has a shelf life of between six months and several years, depending on its type and formulation. Liquid chlorine can often lose its effectiveness in just a few weeks. Pool owners can find themselves with overstock that they need to get rid of. The best way to dispose of excess chlorine is to take it to a hazardous waste collection site and let the pros handle it.

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
