"Great price, lower than other companies quotes. Doesn't add on work you don't need. They actually fixed my roof the very next day as they were able to move their schedule around to accommodate. Highly recommended."

"We have a historic home and there was additional care required to replace siding beneath the roofing material at the eaves. The team at Jordan roof completed the entire job in only 4 days, they fixed up our dormer which had shingles that had deteriorated, and repainted some of the shingles. Our home looks better than ever! Great responsiveness, fair pricing, and high quality work."

"We had a leak in our roof. Another company came out and didn't even try to identify where the leak was coming from. they tried to sell us a new roof. Cabrera went into the attic and identified the leak, then went on the roof and found a nail that had come out. They patch the spot and added tar to some other areas. The first company wanted $67,000 then before he left they came down to $41,000. Cabrera said we had at least 5 years left on our roof and charged us $500."

"I hired Gerardo to do some relatively minor repairs, something that numerous other roofers in the area were unwilling to even undertake. Gerardo provided a very fair estimate and complete the work on time. I am totally happy with the results and will use him again for any future roofing needs."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Here are a few tips on how to choose a roofer:

  • Get everything in writing

  • Ask for insurance, license, and bond, then verify them

  • Check their reviews

  • Ask for recommendations

  • Get multiple quotes

You’ll also want to watch out for any red flags like:

  • Pushy sales tactics

  • Not willing to show necessary documentation

  • Bad gut instincts

The best type of roof vent depends on the size, type, and construction of your roof as well as the environmental conditions in and around your home. In many cases, an active ventilation system that draws in fresh air and exhausts air out through the attic is the most effective. Active ventilation systems include roof ridge vents with baffles, turbine vents, and soffit vents that are used together with another type of vent.

Fall is widely considered the best time of year to replace a roof. The moderate temperatures are ideal for roofing crews to work and for new shingles to seal properly. Additionally, autumn weather is often drier, reducing the risk of weather-related delays compared to the rainier spring season.

While spring is also a viable option, the higher chance of rainfall can slow down the project. The main drawback to a fall installation is that it's the peak season for roofers, which can lead to higher prices and scheduling challenges.

To potentially save money, you could consider scheduling your roof replacement during the summer or winter off-seasons. However, both seasons have significant disadvantages. Extreme summer heat can make shingles too soft to handle, while winter's cold, snow, and ice can create dangerous working conditions and prevent shingles from sealing correctly, as they typically require temperatures above 40-45°F.

For homeowners who plan to stay in their homes for a long time or never want to have to deal with replacing a roof again, rubber roof shingles are likely worth the added investment amount over asphalt shingle varieties. While the initial cost of installing a rubber shingle roof will be significantly higher, their long life spans can be worth it in the long term. Consider the curb appeal of a rubber roof, though, as other roofing materials, like metal, can look better and offer even greater value.

Generally, hailstones that are one inch in diameter or larger can cause significant damage to a roof. However, smaller hail can also cause damage, particularly when accompanied by strong winds, if it strikes an aging or poorly maintained roof, or if hailstorms are frequent in your area. Hail that is ¼ inch (pea-sized) or smaller poses a minimal risk of immediate, permanent damage, but cumulative impacts can cause deterioration over time. The extent of the damage also depends on the roofing material; hail-resistant tiles like slate or certain types of asphalt shingles can withstand impacts better than other materials. If you are concerned about potential damage after a storm, it is always a good idea to have a professional roofer conduct an inspection.
