"Rigo called me to set up an appointment. He arrived promptly and after looking at my yard and hearing what I wanted. He gave me a fair estimate. I told him I wanted to be fair to my current Gardner and keep him through this month. I told him I was happy with him but he didn't maintain my yard, just mostly mow and blow. Rigo, then suggested that I speak to my Gardner and see if he had time to take on the extra work that I needed. Rigo, also checked my sprinkler timer and showed me how to set it. I would not hesitate to hire Rigo or recommend him. I was very impressed with him and had no trouble getting in touch with him."

"Quote & booking: Luis gave me a call in minutes. Getting a quote and scheduling were an easy process from there. Out of everyone who reached out, he was also the only person who seemed to have read my initial message explaining what I was looking for. Service & Results: Excellent! Showed up on time, with own supplies. The team was very thorough and all of our appliances look practically new. What I was most happy about was the walls, baseboard and hallway. Our dog loves playing in the hallway and it had gotten really dingy over the years. Now though the walls are finally white again!"

"I hired LA Landscape and Sprinkler Pros for some light front yard landscaping and to remove two old tree stumps in the backyard. Their team was fantastic. They were super fast, efficient, and respectful of the neighbors, which I really appreciated. The front yard looks like a brand new yard and refreshed without being overdone, and the stump removal was handled quickly without any mess left behind. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for quality work and professional service. Five stars!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

If your roof was constructed between 1930 and 1970, there’s a possibility that the shingles contain asbestos. If that’s the case, you should hire a professional for repairs and replacement, as they’ll have the necessary equipment to stay safe from such a hazardous and cancer-causing substance. If your home was constructed after this period, it’s unlikely that the shingles in place are toxic. In most cases, asbestos shingles are not recyclable, while standard asphalt shingles are recyclable.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.

  • What are your qualifications and experience removing lead-based paint?

  • Are you licensed and certified to remove lead-based paint?

  • How do you test for lead paint?

  • What methods do you use for lead-based paint abatement?

  • What do you plan to do with the hazardous material when you remove it from the home?

  • Do you do replacement and painting work or removal only?

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.
