"This is the second review. I tried to reach Jason on 12/8/20 when I received his same-day notice of quitting. I have not received any response. A couple of pool-man went to see the pool to give estimations. They found algae and un-cleaned parts. Apparently, the pool has not been cleaned for more than 1 week. I also found that payments up to December are cashed. But, the last day of service posted on homeadvise is 10/20/20. If Jason is sick with Covid-19, I will not blame him. Otherwise, be aware. I am very sorry for what happened. Jason worked on my pool for near 2 years. There was not much issue at all. I am surprised about this ending."

"The pool is 50 years old and had been empty for a while. When it came time to remodel, we got three estimates and Rick was the best quote and seemed the most dependable of the three companies. He scheduled the remodel quickly and the work was done on time. He had samples in the truck to show us right then. His crew was professional, quick, and cleaned up the old material. "California Custom Pools installed an inground Freeform pool for my family and I and they knocked the project out of the park. Our experience with them was tremendous, from the initial meeting at our home to discuss our options to the final inspection. George was our project manager and Austin was our designer and these two gentlemen were amazing to do business with and excelled with customer service. They were sure to answer all of our questions and provide us with all the information that we needed. Communication throughout the process was never a problem and they were always available at any time to answer any questions or concerns or provide more details. When I contacted California Custom Pools, George and Austin were out at our home 2 days later for a meeting. 3 days later we had a design and one week later they broke ground with construction. I’m truly amazed at how fast they moved on this project. They started on August 19th and we had water in the pool on September 21st! Absolutely amazing!! Throughout the process, my wife and I had some minor issues/concerns and when we brought them to the attention of George and Austin they took care of it immediately. George also had glow in the dark pebble installed in the pool and glow in the dark sand to border the pool. Very cool feature that our kids love! I highly recommend California Custom Pools to anyone interested in their services and appreciate George and Austin for doing such an amazing job with our pool! Thank you guys."

"We hired Tropical Breeze to complete a driveway replacement in July of 2023. Shortly after the driveway was completed and the final bill was paid, we noticed large unsightly dark spots all over the entire driveway. Some of the bigger spots measure over five feet long and three feet wide. We contacted JJ, the owner via text to explain the problem and attached plenty of photos. We also asked if he would return to the job site to look at the dark spots in person. He was very dismissive from the get-go and said there wasn?t much that could be done and to wait until the summer to see if the spots lightened up or go away. We waited the recommended time and the large unsightly dark spots did not go away. We reached out again via text explaining the problem did not improve and again asked to schedule a phone call to discuss. He was again very dismissive and unwilling to even discuss the problem let alone do anything about it. Do not use this contractor. "

The payment terms were 50% upon demo, and 50% upon completion. I left the time of completion empty, because naively I thought that they would be eager to complete the job. My ratings are: Price 5 star; Quality of work 5 star; scheduling of work 2 star. Average rating 4 star. Alex was eager to do the demo, because this triggers the first 50% payment. Demo was done on April 16, 2025. We also amended the contract to install new lights ($1,200) and replacement of Deck O Seal ($1,800). New contract price $12,300. My payment of $6,150 on April 16, 2025. The value of the Demo may be about $3,000. I therefore had now paid about $3,000 in advance. Waiting and waiting.
