Few weeks upon the permit approval, construction started. Ilai the project manager was super knowledgeable and updated us almost daily, their designer assisted with the final materials inputs and recommendations, all of the crewmember was respectful and clean. "Danny took on our project, which was to build a home on an oddly-shaped, canyon side lot. We hired him as he had experience building on hillsides as well as with working with our architect. Ours was a very difficult project; from Coastal Commission to City approval, as well as with structural engineering. Danny had a plan for how to access and install our caissons into the hillside from day one. Not only that, his crew and sub-contractors showed up everyday, on-time for our year and a 1/2 building period. We communicated nearly every day via text or phone calls; Danny and his supervisor Scott were always VERY responsive. They were also open to alternate ideas in order to cut down construction costs. We've now been in our new home one year, and can honestly say that we are very happy with the craftsmanship and quality of our home. Moreover, the few small issues that we have had (garage door opener; low water pressure), Danny has continued to be responsive and to send his team back out to assist us over this past year. Overall, DM Building is an honest and earnest group of builders who only want the best for your project. "We held off on review for about four months because we do not believe you have a balanced picture of your experience immediately as the "newness factor" plays such a part. Last summer Halpert Construction remodeled our bathroom. We were immediately struck by the fact that Mark Halpert listened to us and did not try to take over the project like several of our other bidders seemed to want to. He also explained the whole process and after we hired him it worked just as he said. In fairness we agreed to purchase our own materials except for the basic construction materials (I must say he went above and beyond and purchased a number of things we expected to purchase.) He did help is with referrals to excellent sources. His bid was well within the parameters of the work he was providing and there were no hidden costs or cost overruns. His workers worked for him and were not day laborers and we were extremely pleased with all of them. The workers (and Mark) were excellent to work with and never got tired of explaining and answering our questions. They did their professional work perfectly but always consulted us when there was a design question. If we were having trouble they always gave us some perspectives. Even though we started early there were a couple of SNAFUs as to our part of the purchases--mostly because of the pandemic and the shortage of materials. They took it in stride and worked around these difficulties without complaint. They finished on time and cleaned up well. At the end of the job we did stick on a painting project and he gave us a good price and even pulled his main painter to take care of us that day. After four months we view this project as one of our best improvements on our house and are amazed every day when we use the shower and bathroom. We could wholeheartedly recommend Halpert Construction for any household project--large or small."

"We recently remodeled our master bath, and we chose King Remodeling for our prime contractor. We never regretted the choice. At the beginning, King gave us a proposal that demonstrated they clearly understood what the job was in detail. The scope for the project was clearly defined, and the costs were very reasonable. We had five estimates for the job, and King's was the best. However, in any remodel, getting a good initial quote is probably the easy part. The hard part is how well the contractor performs, how he handles changes, and what happens when problems arise (and problems will always arise). I've done a lot of subcontracting over the years, and very often by the end of the project the customer and the contractor can't wait to be rid of each other and probably aren't even talking to each other anymore. Not so with King. King Remodeling handled all of the remodel issues spectacularly. Their team consists of a number of high quality professionals who can do the full range of tasks necessary to complete a typical remodeling project (tiling, plumbing, electrical, plastering, painting, granite work, carpentry, etc, etc). Almost every single day, someone was there doing something, and their project manager (Corey) was totally on top of things. He would often answer my emails within 10 minutes of my sending them (even at 11:00 at night). I also liked how they didn't "nickel-and-dime" me on small things not in the original quote. When a window latch broke, there was no attempt to shift blame. They ordered a new part and replaced it without discussion. Same thing when a tile cracked. They ordered a replacement part (drove up to L.A. to pick it up) and replaced it without discussion. I would definitely use King Remodeling again on my next project."

Idan was with us every step of the way, picking out all the materials for the project and also provided a 3D rendering that helped a lot with the design. We got a work schedule and payment schedule before we started so everything was super clear and organized with no surprises and extra costs.
