Geremia Pools & Landscaping
5.0
Dee Geremia came out several times with pool plans for us to look at. Each time we had her make changes to the plan as the pool evolved. We were offered a fair price which we accepted. We are under contract for a pool and are waiting for excavation work to start. Dee was always prompt about making changes and always showed up on time. She is very professional and knowledgeable, always pleasant, friendly, and has a lot of patience. Geremia has an excellent reputation and we are sure we'll be happy with the pool

CENTURY POOLS

It's a small family owned business. The people that you meet with to talk about the quote are the ones you will be dealing with throughout the process. They went above and beyond our expectations and really put in the effort to get things right. If there was one thing they needed to work on it's communication. There were times in the process where we could have bee a little better informed as to what was happening when. But in the end, our pool turned out beautifully and 2 weeks before scheduled

Burkett's Pool Plastering Inc

We initially got a quote from them to replaster the pool, completely remodel the decking, replace the tile, and a couple other things. That quote was $15,600. We ended up deciding to sell the house instead of keeping it, so we opted for a basic replaster just to get the house ready to sell. That came out to about $4,800. They were very responsive and helpful, even after we elected to go with the cheap remodel. We never got pressure from them to do more or felt downgraded in priority after we went with the cheaper option, which we appreciated. Our customer service representative (Megan) was very helpful and was great about getting back to me and answering any questions I had. We got quotes from other companies as well, and Burkett's was the cheapest for both the big remodel and the simple remodel

DAVIS HOME TRENDS
5.0
This review is for Doughboy pool sales only. They do not install, although they can refer you to qualified installers. Both Paula and Ralph helped us through the purchase process of a 28' round Doughboy pool to be sunk half way into the ground. Both were very knowledgeable, gave helpful hints and recommendations, and any answers they didn't know off hand they got within minutes. It is clear they have been doing this for quite some time and they know what they're doing. We are very happy with the material purchase experience. FYI... You'll need a water truck service if not using your own water and an excavator (the pool installer has recommendations for both). You'll also need to hire out your own decking or concrete company for surrounding deck/patio. If you're sinking the pool into the ground and surrounding with concrete you'll need a concrete vendor or contractor to at least provide the slurry and, if you're not a do-it-yourselfer, do the work. This is not easy to find, and according to the installer contractors generally don't do a good job of it unless you have another project for them to do at the same time - like a patio. I highly recommend Davis Home Trends. They are very service oriented and knowledgeable. Been in business a long time as well which speaks volumes for their service. Great people

Burkett's Pool Plastering Inc

Estimator came out to show us what could be done to update and extend the life of our pool, which is at least 35 years old. Different plaster choices and newer pebble tec samples were shown, discussed and priced. New pool features were also reviewed including converting to a salt system, auto fill and remote control of equipment. We were able to add and subtract what was and was not important to us while keeping within a reasonable budget. Work started in about 2 weeks and went steadily. All crews worked hard and cleaned up after themselves daily. We were also getting our patio and cool deck resurfaced and Burkett's worked with that company to schedule the work so that the entire project would be finished on time and look great. The new equipment is super quiet and energy efficient. At the end a representative came out to explain the features and put start up chemicals in the pool. Three days later the project manager came out to go over operation of the equipment and insure our satisfaction. Both gave us their business cards and told us to call them with any future questions or concerns

We felt that the price was a little high but it is hard to tell because we went through our general contractor and we needed a deck and retaining wall. We did decide to upgrade some of the pool equipment and we have been happy with the results. We have a few spots where the PebbleTec is lifting off of the pool but we have not contacted Adam's yet regarding it. I have every confidence that they will resolve it once we contact them. I contacted Adam's Pools about a year after the pool was built about a couple of issues with the PebbleTec. It took a little while for them to show up but once they did they fixed all issues at no charge

Burkett's removed the old cracked asbestos kool-deck surrounding the pool, poured a completely new pool deck, removed a spa wall, put in new channel drains, pressure tested existing plumbing, replaced old 3 way valves at pump location, replaced old pool light, and refinished the pool with a beautiful new pebble finish along with new tile at the water line. Work was done on time at budget. Communication with me was very good, no surprises. I was out of town for the pool start-up so they coordinated with my regular pool service folks. Had one issue with the way a pool timer was rewired which caused a timer failure. Burkett's replaced the timer at no charge to me. Overall I was very pleased and I love the pool

Premier Pools & Spas - Sacramento

Our representative (Kori) contacted us, designed and coordinated the installation of our pool, and was always responsive to our inquiries. They were flexible to our changes along the way and we are extremely happy with the results. The project was finished within the time lines provided (a few days shy of the six weeks) and the company was careful to keep us informed along the way. There were a couple of "fixes" and they were quick to make the adjustments. The only criticism was when the pool was finished we had to wait 5 long days for someone to program and set-up the equipment so we could use the spa! As I watch our neighbors struggle to get their dirt removed after more than two weeks, I am inspired to write this review and strongly recommend Premier Pools. They clearly have the expertise and organization to get the job done quickly and efficiently

"Great. They really work as a team in all facets of the job. They called ahead and confirmed when they would be showing up and how long they would be. They also gave me very detailed written instructions for the best outcome of the tile and plaster.
<br>The cost also included my upgrades of pool tiles and pool plaster color that I chose.

"We had contacted Adams and several other pool contractors for quotes on remodeling our pool. By the end of the process, we had received quotes from 6 different companies. Adams was not the lowest bidder (hence the B on cost), but my husband and I were both immediately at ease with the staff and really wanted to work with Adams on this project.
<br /> Rodger Berry, our sales rep, is extremely knowledgeable and knows his products. Once we made the initial decision on the pebbletec surface, color, and tile, Rodger made arrangements for my husband to see the surface installed at another client's home. I am so thankful for that, because while my husband was the one who wanted the black, he did not like it at all once he saw the finished product. We did a complete 180 and went with the white pearl instead.
<br /> The staff at Adams are well trained, very patient, and top-notch professionals. The crews that came to perform each phase of work were all friendly, pleasant, and efficient in their work. Karen was our contact in the office, and she called me daily before and during the work at our home. Our change orders seemed like very big deal, changing-our-mind-at-the-last-possible-second type decisions to us, but Karen and Rodger took it in stride and made it happen. I love that Karen took my calls like we were old friends and answered my questions and last-minute requests as if I were doing her a favor by calling to ask yet another question about the work schedule or what to expect next.
<br /> Adams started and finished the work within the promised timeframe. The crews showed up on time and cleaned up at the end of each day. Everyone who came to our home was polite and respectful of our property and grounds.
<br /> The final result is beautiful, so much more than we imagined when selecting our materials. The last-minute add-ons (installation of multi-colored LED lights, abalone, and glass beads) are worth every single penny. The advice and education my husband received in the care and operating of our new surface, valves, and fancy lights came is priceless.
<br /> We are delighted with the results and would highly recommend Adams Pool Specialties.

"In the beginning everything went smoothly, but to get them to finish the job was a nightmare. It took over a month to get them back to finish the job. Also they were sloppy and left debris everywhere. In the end the did a good job and I did like it. Would I hire them again, humm I really don't know I would have to think about that.
"The quality of the pool is very good and we are very happy with the finished product, both the hardscape and pool. However, the day-to-day communication was inconsistent and sometimes frustrating. The owners did a good job of keeping us satisfied with the project,"

"We had Bob Delong out to bid on using concrete block pavers to build a raised firepit with seating area, extend a pool deck, and strengthen existing decomposed granite paths in our multi-level landscaped back yard. Bob worked with us on materials and design, and bid the job at a very reasonable price. His excellent crew did the work cheerfully and timely, making mid-job adjustments as necessary. After the job was finished, Bob replaced some of the pavers because we didn't like the colors, and even came out two years after the install to remedy a drainage problem that became apparent well after the install. Call him up!

"I didn't end up hiring Steven M. Wilson Concrete, however, i thought it was important to let those using Angie's List know that it was a pleasure speaking with Steven M. Wilson Concrete. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Steven M. Wilson Concrete for future needs.

"<p>1. Upon purchase of a home the under floor area was constructed with a room in jeopardy of the hill slope caving in on it below the first floor. Some floor post supports had already moved out of position, and water had migrated from below the house into the lower room. There also was a severe separation on the retaining wall on the side of the house that caused damage to interior walls and flooring.</p>
<p>Work required removal of supports not needed and in the way of construction of retaining wall. A 4 foot wall was required behind two sides of the existing room. Footings, masonry wall, waterproofing, French drain, backfill was required to eliminate the severe hillside slope threatening the lower room area. New floor supports were reinstalled as needed above the wall to establish supports removed during construction. Also other floor supports were reinforced/rebuilt due to earth movement in the area needing grading. Total work was difficult due to limited clearances, and done by hand and skill of knowledge of what needed to be done. Along with the underfloor area one side of the room had a retaining wall, not properly built and separated which let water migrate through a large opening. Dirt was removed, the wall sealed and reinforced with additional concrete. After the underfloor areas were dealt with, the interior portions required removal of ceiling soffits, patching of drywall on walls and ceiling, repair of some HVAC ducting, repair of electrical outlets and installation of new LED recessed lighting and ceiling fan. Eventually they installed new laminated flooring, painted the walls and ceiling. Before moving into the house, the roof also needed replacing. They removed the old shingle roofing, installed new plywood roof sheathing, required felt, all the required flashing/venting, ridge cap venting that integrated with the asphalt shingles chosen. Gutters and downspouts were also installed.</p>
<p>2. Being very satisfied with their work on the previous project we employed them to help facilitate construction of a 12 foot sliding glass door and associated 12x24 outside deck. The original house only had a 4x8 window located in the living area that faced the open back yard area. The rear of the lot slopes away from the house so the deck takes advantage of the open area by being a couple stories above the yard area. The posts supporting the deck required deeper than usual footing and California Building Codes require probably more than the usual lateral supports than other states. The Deck design required articulated details that called for good craftsmanship and framing knowledge. The hand rail was constructed with usual wood supports, but used tempered glass infill panels to take advantage of the open view. The decking itself was composite material but gave the appearance of wood. Lighting was also installed on each side of the new door opening. Construction required demolition of the existing window, opening of the walls to be 4 feet wider, new door header and supports framed back into the wall. Electrical was needed to be removed, re-routed that continued on to other portions of the house, and switching and lighting for the exterior deck was provided. The Deck required demolition of a portion of a patio roof, and some miscellaneous electrical reconnections. The deck itself needing footings, wall ledgers tied back into the existing floor framing, beams, posts, joists, and better than expected metal bracketing for framing members. All framing came together to provide a very solid and substantial structure. The finishes on the redwood came out very nice, but the most impressive details came to be provided by the views through the glass panels between the deck supports. The Double glass door and glass for the hand railing was provided and installed by a local glass company with coordination of the contractor. We are very please with the construction and end results of this project.</p>
<p>future 3. We anticipate that soon we will be remodeling our interior living area which will include a completely new kitchen. We are in the process of choosing finish materials and appliances, and probably will be using Fassett Construction to help facilitate this next project. Of course budget is a main concern and they have always been more than reasonable with the work and materials provided.</p>
