I researched many pool companies before I decided on Generation to replaster my 30 +year old pool. Val's two teams were great. They were very punctual on the time that I was given they would be here. They cleaned up all work area spotless. Overall ~ Excellent service- Professional - would definitely recommend to family & friends!!!

It went really well. Valentino (owner) told me a lot about caring for my pool. There were a lot of things I didn't know, as I was a fairly new pool owner. He was very nice and patient...I asked a lot of questions! He was prompt in his responses to them. His crew are hard workers. I give Generation Pools an A+++!

Valentino and his crew did an amazing job.  Valentino and his staff were excellent at communicating about the estimate and the details.  He replied to emails and texts in a timely fashion.  He was very clear on scheduling and his crew always arrived on time, worked professionally, and cleaned up when they left.  We did a major remodel to our old 1967 pool and invested a lot of money into the remodel.  I felt we really got a great deal and excellent work for the price.  Valentino was willing to negotiate on the price, and he was very helpful in assisting us making decisions about the remodel.  We were able to visit his showroom where we were able to take home tile samples.  I think we were able to get the pool remodeled exactly the way we had envisioned it. We wanted to add a water feature to the pool, and he was very helpful in giving us ideas.  We finally decided on installing a water bench fountain with blue glass tile around it.  I think the bench fountain really ties the whole color scheme of the pool together.  We only encountered a few issues during the remodel.  One issue was the color of the plaster. At first we were not happy with the color of the plaster when it was first set for it did not resemble the photo we had chosen.  Valentino urged us to wait for the plaster to cure and that the color would be closer to the picture.  He also said that he could not guarantee an exact color based on different variables.  We love the color it has become (a pretty sapphire blue) and like it even better than the photo we chose.  The other issue was when they installed the new plumbing for the new pump and filter, they had to dig up a brick patio.  After they re-laid the bricks, we felt the bricks needed to be re-laid again for there was several uneven spots where someone could trip.  Valentino reassured us that when the rains stop and the earth was dry under the bricks, they would return to relay the bricks this summer.
I think that Valentino and his staff were very hardworking, honest, and responsible.  Valentino worked hard to solve any problem we encountered and he would take time to come to the house to view the work first hand.  We highly recommend him and his crew!

Great.  They really work as a team in all facets of the job.  They called ahead and confirmed when they would be showing up and how long they would be.  They also gave me very detailed written instructions for the best outcome of the tile and plaster.
The cost also included my upgrades of pool tiles and pool plaster color that I chose.

The owner, Valentino, is a very experienced, smart & professional pool contractor.  I'm so grateful to Angie's list for  referring him, as well as extremely grateful for the positive experience Valentino provided for us in this LARGE undertaking.
We nearly remodeled the entire pool - old tiles were popping off, the plaster surface was cracked from age & tree root intrusion; several of the pool cement pads had been lifted by the adjacent trees & need replacement, etc.
Valentino was tremendously helpful throughout the long process and had the subs which were needed for the tile work, etc.  I cannot recommend him STRONGLY enough.  Post-project he has gone way beyond the scope of duty by advising me every step of the way regarding the addition of new water, chemicals needed to re-start the pool & care for the new plaster surface, responding to calls & text messages with questions about all the daily chemical readings.

I met Val for the initial estimate, he arrived on time and sent the estimate within a day. He was very prompt with replies to my emails before and during the project. His crew is experienced and professional. Due to a miscommunication there was a schedule conflict when his crew showed up when I could not accommodate them due to other construction in my yard. A quick call with Val and he rescheduled me for later. Overall a great experience working with generation pool plastering.

In the late spring of 2014, I contacted 5 different pool companies doing business in the greater Sacramento area about the renovation and replastering project in my 20' x 40? inground gunnite pool. This pool was a real mess and had not had water, except rainwater, in it for 11 years. The quotes that I got varied by almost $10,000 for the same work, the highest one being almost $25,000.
One of the calls that I made was to Generation Pool Plastering. I talked to Valentino, the owner of Generation Pool Plastering. He told me that if I could wait until the winter to do the project when they weren?t so busy, he could give me a better price. So, I waited until November and sent Valentino an email telling him that I was ready to get the pool project underway and asked him to give me a bid. Valentino came and looked at the pool within a few days. His bid was roughly 40% lower than the average of the bids that I got in the spring.
We exchanged a few emails and agreed on a written contract describing the scope of the work, the new equipment, the new tile all around, quartz based plaster, converting the spa to a shallow seating area, new colored led pool light, prices, etc.
Within a week of making our agreement, the Generation Pool Plastering crew was at my house and began the dirty job of pumping out the old black rainwater, removing the old equipment, removing the old tile, reducing the wall between the pool and spa, filling in the old spa with concrete, sand blasting the old plaster and applying a bonding coat to the new surface. Once that was done, the plumber/electrician came and set the new equipment and color pool light and pressure checked all the pipes for leaks. Next came the new waterline tile and border line tile on the steps and swimouts. Lastly, came the whole crew (about 12 guys) to do the actual plastering. 
The entire project was done in a most polite, expedient and professional manner. I am very happy with the result,  the fair, honest pricing and the professional way they went about this project without delay, step by step until the job was done.  Valentino was very easy to work with and could give lessons to other contractors,  and small businessmen of all kinds, in how to communicate with your customers. We communicated by email, text and telephone. For example, several times i sent texts or emails to Valentino between 9pm and 10pm thinking that he would answer the next day. Instead, I would get a written reply or telephone call within 10 minutes regardless of the time. 
As an attorney in my 40th year of practicing law, I have had a lot of experience seeing good and bad, careful and negligent, serious and phony people and businessmen. Based on my experience with Valentino and Generation Pool Plastering, I can recommend him without hesitation as one of the good guys who takes pride in the quality of his work, will treat you fairly and do a good job.

I got 4 bids from Angies List providers, and Valentino appeared to be the most experienced ( 4 generations !),  giving all details of the process, willing to meet our timelines, and provide a 8-year warranty. He and his wife kept me fully informed throughout the 7 workdays needed to complete the job. 
Overall, I can recommend Generation without reservation and my daughter and her family are now enjoying their beautiful "new" pool !

Val and his crews at Generation Pool Plastering did an awesome job on our pool resurface. I contacted Val many times with an abundant amount of questions with follow up questions and even more follow up questions.  He never once sounded bothered and was always happy to answer my inquiries. I told him of my nervousness about doing this type of project and he made sure to go through the process many times so I would know what to expect. He didn't pressure me into hiring his company and let me decide when I was ready.  He gave me referrals when I requested them and all of them were high recommendations. He kept in communication with me at all times so I knew the timeline of events, who would show up, that he would review the process every step of the way and he kept his word. The crews were also very pleasant and cleaned up their work areas as if they had never been there.  He gave me all of my instructions for the curing process after my pool was refilled that made it easy to follow. I would highly recommend Val and his crews to anyone who is particular about who they hire like us. He's dependable, gets the job done and does it very well.

We met with Val from Generation pools to receive a quote to resurfac, re-tile, and repair a small crack in our swimming pool.  We were immediately impressed by the amount of knowledge he provided to help us make the best decision for our large investment.  Val was patient, professional, and has a great personality.  He spent a lot of time with us as we discussed color, surface type, and made sure to pay close attention to what was important to us. Generation offers fair pricing, and does excellent work!  We hired Val and his team to resurface our pool in March and they worked efficiently and the outcome was BEAUTIFUL.  Val really understood our desire for JUST THE RIGHT color, and it is PERFECT. 

Valentino was prompt, responsive, and attentive to details. His prep crew did a good job, finished by 4; the second day, the plastering crew was finished by noon. Cleaned up well, not as much dust as I imagined there would be. Ask for a one month start-up; he contracts with Sac Valley Pool Service and they've been out a few times already.

Through the whole process, Val was professional, knowledgeable, and timely.  Once I decided to hire Generation Pool, Val kept a close eye on the weather, as he did not want the chance of rain to impede their ability to start and finish my pool.  As luck would have it, he was able to prep my pool on a Monday, finish the plaster on Tuesday, and have the pool filled by Wednesday morning... prior to the arrival of rain that evening.  The job went completely as planned and promised.  They showed up when they said they would, they performed the job they said they would, they completed when they said they would, and the price was exactly what he said it would be.  Upon completion, they cleaned up nicely and left little sign of the fact they were even there.
As for the plaster, I'm extremely happy with the finished product.  I had them install Diamond Bright "Super Blue" and my pool looks absolutely beautiful.  The Blue Quartz shows through nicely and the water color is so inviting!  Given the weather to date, I've not been able to get into my pool to feel the bottom, but if the floor feels anything like the sides, I'm going to be extremely happy!
I am very happy with the entire process, the finished product, and would highly recommend Generation Pool to anyone considering a re-plaster.
