"I hired this company to make a wrought-iron, custom made handrail. I described to them what I wanted done and they made it exactly to my specifications. The handrail is strong and very stylish. "This was the first time i undertook such an extensive project: new concrete driveway, artificial turf install, stucco wall , iron fences and motorized gate, drip irrigation, spotlights, new plantings. All the work was completed on time with utmost professionalism from Yosi and his very capable crews. Everything was upfront and there were never any surprises. When looking at natural wood fences, you have several options other than cedar, namely: pine and redwood. Compared to cedar, redwood fencing has a deeper, red-brown color, better durability, and a higher price tag. Pine, on the other hand, is one of the most affordable types of wood for fences, but it requires the most maintenance out of the three and has the shortest lifespan.

The most common height of a front yard fence is around 3 feet high, but it can vary depending on your zoning laws. If your fence is meant to create privacy, something closer to 6 feet or higher will do the trick. Most of the time, the highest fence you’ll see is 8 feet tall.

Pickets should sit at least 2 inches off the ground to encourage groundwater to flow underneath. Pickets can sit as much as 6 inches off the ground, but setting it any higher could let pets in or out of your yard unintentionally. These are not to be confused with the fence posts anchored underground with soil or concrete footing.

Generally, the height of your dog fence should be 3 times the distance from the ground to your dog’s shoulder. For most small breeds, a 4-foot high fence will be more than enough to keep them from jumping out. Medium-sized breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds will need at least a 5-6 foot fence to stay contained. Large breeds that are also excellent jumpers, such as Greyhounds, may need a 7-foot high fence. 

This depends on where you are placing the iron railing. If you are installing a railing along a staircase, it would be a good time to conduct any necessary repair or maintenance jobs to the staircase itself. If you are throwing the railing up surrounding a deck or porch, deal with any persistent issues with said deck or porch. If you or a loved one needs a bit of extra help getting in and out of your house, this could also be a good time to install a disability ramp.
