"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"I have been in contact with the company before to schedule a huge tree property service on my property. I have met both 'Franks'. There is a Frank that is the owner and he has an employee that works for him also named Frank. What I find really compelling is how versed both Franks are with the TRPA regulatory agency and they educated me just how important it would be for me to get my ducks in a row so that TRPA would not come for the attack if I do any work that is not permitted. I had no idea about the ShoreZone TRPA rules and I did exactly what they directed and was able to get a TRPA permit to do very specific ShoreZone pruning and cutting. These guys know the rules and I scheduled an appointment for May next year to complete the project permitted by TRPA. Both Franks helped me protect myself from getting into trouble with TRPA and for that I am thankful. They saved me a lot of pain especially if I were to get into trouble with TRPA. Recently, I had a tree fall down between my house and another. In fact, a large portion of the tree was resting on a few limbs of another tree and was about to fall onto my metal roof and would have caused substantial damaged. I called and texted Frank and they came out immediately and removed the tree. They were so fast and their work was so precise. You would never have know a tree went down or any of the damage that it caused the other trees around it. Great crew and great owner. Thank you frank for saving my tail with regard to TRPA and thank you again for coming out so fast to stop any possible damage to my home from that huge fallen tree."

"Incredibly rude! Charged me for stacking and then DID NOT stack. When asked why he didn’t stack, he said my 2 stairs were icy, they weren’t and I have pictures to prove it. Jason then said that he was charging me for stacking since he brought the wood to the side of my house instead of leaving in my driveway. Total jerk!!"

"Jim and his Trimpak crew went the extra mile to make revisions to my 25-year old stairway. They went above and beyond to make sure the parts matched the old originals that are staying in place...which was no small feat! I highly recommend them for any job. Excellent customer service and top-knotch craftsmanship!"

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

You can maneuver your gas grill into place, but you cannot connect the grill to your gas source yourself. All municipalities mandate that a certified plumber carry out this work, so you’ll have to reach out to a plumber or a gas grill installation company in your area. Given how dangerous a gas leak can be, gas lines and connections are highly regulated, so you’ll need a professional’s help and a permit to install a gas grill.

All U.S. states require permits for gas grill installation, so you’ll have to get one before you move forward with your project. Permits help ensure that the gas line runs safely to avoid gas leaks and explosions. Gas line permits can usually also only be pulled by certified plumbers, which means you’ll have to hire a professional from the start. The permit for a gas line installation for a gas grill usually costs between $100 and $300. You can contact your installation company or building department for more accurate pricing.

No, homeowners should never attempt to fix a gas leak themselves. Gas leaks pose serious health and fire hazards. Exposure to leaking gas can make you sick, and accumulated gas can ignite and explode. So always take leaks seriously and seek the help of a pro right away. While you may be able to detect a gas leak, always call a licensed professional to handle repairs and replacements.

As long as a licensed professional installs your gas lines, you don’t have to do anything extra to prepare for cold weather. If there are pipes that require a wrap, your installer should have done it for you already. If you want to be absolutely sure your gas system is good to go for winter, the best option is to schedule a gas line inspection.

The best sealant for gas pipes is usually a pipe joint compound, or pipe dope. It creates a durable, leak-proof seal that is resistant to high pressure and vibrations, and it doesn’t break down like tape can. Yellow Teflon tape, or PTFE tape, can also be a good option and is a safe and reliable sealant for gas pipes when you or a pro apply it correctly.
