• We had a tight schedule with a upcoming move in date. Mike Pillar came to our new home, and got back to us with an estimate. We decided to accept his bid, selected one of the samples that he provided, and went to his shop to sign the contract. At that time we were told that the wood that we had selected was not in stock, and it would take six weeks to get. He suggested an alternative, that was available immediately. We were disappointed but had a time crunch, took the new sample to our home, and determined that is as an acceptable replacement, (although visibly was inferior quality 25% thinner), than our original selection. The following week, we met with the installers, and proceeded to leave them to work, when the foreman came running after me, and wanted to show me that the wood that they were installing, did not match the sample, that was still in my house. It was clearly a different dye lot. I was very upset and got in touch with Mike Pillar. He insisted that it was the same, even though myself, my husband, and his employee clearly saw a difference. I was thrilled to find out that the original wood that we had selected suddenly was available, however, we were now being charged an extra $680 to get the floor that we were originally quoted on. The explanation that we were given for the price increase was that the stairs cost more with that wood, even though that flooring isn't even on the stairs. The stairs are stained wood. In the end the quality of the work, and the overall pricing was good. I didn't appreciate the bait and switch tactics, the unreasonable price increase, or the way that I was spoken to by the owner.

"After 20 years our espresso stained, wire brushed oak wood floors needed to be refinished, and some boards needed to be replaced. It was hard to find a company that understands what work goes into wire brushing wooden floors. Scott Schneider, owner of Old Tyme Floors, is the perfect person to do this work. His two employees Cesar and Alberto are true craftsmen. Their work is meticulous; they strive for perfection and are very knowledgeable. They sanded our floors, re-finished the beveled edges, and then wire brushed by hand. When we saw the original color of the wood we wanted to go with this look - Scott was always flexible and understood what we wanted to achieve. We were very lucky to find such craftsmanship and professionalism! It was great working with Old Tyme Floors - we would always go back to them!"

"We spoke to Andres, the general manager. He worked us into their schedule and within a few days they were out to replace the carpet. They removed all of the old carpet and treated the hardwood floors underneath due to our dog using the restroom on the floor. We were very pleased with the work. I would use them again in the future."

"We removed a wet bar from our house in order to make the area into a media center. After doing the demo, we saw that the drywall needed to be redone, so we called Ciro. He answered that same afternoon, and came out to look the next day. He said we could either replace the drywall or simply do a skim coat, that he would do whichever we preferred. We opted to just do a skim coat.
He came back the next day and started working. He's just a very nice guy. He papered the entire walkway to the work area, worked very neatly and put two coats of thin set on that day. Removed the trim around our canned lights before working. He came back just this afternoon, put plastic up over the entire work area, and finished sanding.
Looked great, you can tell Ciro knows what he is doing, and I would use him again if I had any more work.
