"It went very well. While removing the old flooring it was discovered that the drywall around the stool area needed to be replaced. New drywall was installed and painted to match the rest of the wall. Floor boards were repainted. The new flooring was installed as was the new toilet."

"Sam is a true general contractor, he and his team remodeled dated living room, taking on the stairs, building in a media cabinet, creating a feature wood wall, re texturing the ceiling, repainting the whole room, and installing lighting. Our 1960s open staircase with it is bare metal handrail was turned into a beautiful focal point in the room, complete with a classic wooden handrail and built in storage and media cabinet beneath the stairs. The attention to detail uplifted the project, really one of a kind results, his crew delivered exactly the stairs we had dreamed of! Sams crew, Raf and Cruz are excellent, we wanted a feature wood wall with a precise, geometric look, and the wall looks better than the picture we showed them. Along the way, we changed our minds, added things, and were, in some ways a pain but Sam was always agreeable, willing and professional. The job site was tidy each day, and they were on time. I will hire Sam again and highly recommend him."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on labor, material quality, wall preparation, and finishing requirements.

Regularly in areas prone to moisture or high traffic to catch issues early.

The amount of drywall you need for a 1,000-square-foot basement depends on the ceiling height, angles, number of doors and windows, and more. To find the wall square footage, multiply the width and height of each wall, minus any gaps from windows or doors, and add the totals together. You’ll also need enough drywood nails or screws to install the drywall correctly.

Yes, you can hammer a nail into a wall stud. But before you do, it’s important to confirm that you’re actually nailing into a stud—and not wiring, pipes, or ductwork. To check, find a few more studs in the wall, then measure to make sure they’re either 16 or 24 inches apart.

Fixing ceiling nail pops involves similar steps to wall repair, with the major difference being the orientation of the work. Ceiling nail pops can be more challenging because you may need to work overhead, which can be physically demanding and require additional safety precautions. Additionally, the ceiling may have different materials or finishes, such as textured surfaces, which can affect the repair process. Otherwise, the fundamental steps are the same.
