"I am grateful for Scott Schneider of Olde Tyme Floor Company for solving a mystery! I have just had engineered wood flooring installed in my home, (by a general contractor, not a specialized flooring contractor like Scott - mistake #1!) and couldn't understand why I didn't like the finished result!!! So I reached out to Olde Tyme to refinish my BRAND NEW FLOORS (I know - crazy!) Scott immediately diagnosed the problem and, thankfully, it was fixable! - The installer that I used (not Scott) didn't properly clean up after installation, which left a very visible and unsightly gluey "haze" - a film over the entire project, which wouldn't come off with regular wood-floor cleaner. There were even foot prints (presumably glue) from the installers' shoes! Scott very kindly, on his off hours, detailed the steps I needed to take to fix the problem - namely, insisting that the original installer return and properly clean the entire floor. ***I would absolutely hire Olde Tyme Floor Co.to install any future floors. Scott is solid and above board (no pun intended) is really communicative and personable and really knows his business! Oh, how I wish I used Olde Tyme Floor Co.!!! "Javier made time to meet with me on July 4th for my estimate which was surprising but appreciated since I had limited availability due to living out of town. His knowledge about floor restorations was extensive and he answered every question I had about my 65 year old floor. He had even recommended a high traffic sealant since I am preparing my house for rent. Yes, I want the high traffic finish but I was concerned about the fumes for my tenants. He explained that they now use low VOCs and the smell goes away much quicker than the older stuff, which gave me peace of mind. I reviewed stain samples right then and we chose a slightly darker color stain to camouflage some of the nail damage from an old carpet installation. During the job, he worked with my project manager who told me his team was prompt, professional and delivered an absolutely beautiful floor. They even stained all of the thresholds including the entry so that it would match the floor! The last perk was being able to pay the deposit and final invoice from my computer at home. I highly recommend Monteros for your hardwood flooring needs. What a pleasant experience!!!"
